MT WASHINGTON CROWN MILANO BURMESE DECORATED ROSE BOWL. Large Mt. Washington rose bowl has a soft apricot to butter cream background and is enameled with a dogwood-type floral decoration overall in colors of white and pink with yellow centers and leaves of green and brown. CROWN MILANO VASE. Bulbous form vase has a tight collar from which a bulbous neck arises, ending in a fluted lip. CROWN MILANO CRACKER JAR. Cracker jar begins with a soft green ground and is accented with a floral and foliage pattern overall in pinks, mauves, yellows and white with variegated green foliage. CROWN MILANO CRACKER JAR. Peach and cream melon-ribbed cracker jar is decorated with a gold oak leaf and acorn pattern, highlighted in earthen hues. The jar is surmounted with a polished lid and bale. Base is marked “3914-1205”. Lid is signed “P” in a diamond, then “3914”. SIZE: 5″ t. (not including handle). WAVE CREST BOX. Beautiful oval shaped box is decorated with a rococo pattern, shading from white to pink. Further decorating this box are cherubs and blue chickory. Interior is lined with what appears to be original silk lining. Box rests upon an ornate brass footed stand. Box is signed “Wave Crest” with illegible word (Trademark?). SIZE: 3″ x 5-1/4″. Additional Information: In the recent book on Mt. Washington by Betty Sisk it illustrates an identical ewer with a different stopper on page 178. Another ewer in the same book on page 192 in a different style has the exact stopper. We don’t know if these stoppers were interchangeable or whether they should be as illustrated in the book.

ROYAL FLEMISH COVERED EWER. Palace size ewer is decorated with a coat-of-arms as the focal point with cherubs amidst a floral design. The predominant background colors are peach, light green and beige. Ewer is heavily decorated in gold. Completing the ewer is an applied glass handle and openwork stopper. ROYAL FLEMISH BISCUIT JAR. Coin medallions in gold decorate this lovely background of beige, apricot, tan and mauve. Biscuit jar is finished with metal rim and lid. CROWN MILANO LAMP BASE. Beautifully decorated bulbous kerosene style base is decorated with birds in flight against a gold sun with many gold stars. Glass base is supported by a 4-footed metal stand and has metal collar and 3-arm shade support. Base has a single socket. Marked “Made in U.S.A.” on turn knob. SIZE: 11″ t. including hardware. MT. WASHINGTON COLONIAL WARE LAMP BASE. Square oil lamp glass base features birds in flight over pyramids with other Egyptian designs. Glass portion rests upon a metal base with four supporting feet and is finished with a complimentary square glass font complete with metal collar and burner. Marked on the dual burners “Pat. May 16 / Feb. 27/ 77 / Sept. 10. 89. Jan. 21. 90”. Lamp is finished with kerosene chimney. SIZE: Overall 18″ t. CONDITION: Base shows several chips on rim that is concealed by font. SATIN GLASS HANDLED VASE. Exceptional Victorian vase is done in raspberry satin glass with a herringbone pattern and overall threading. The vase is finished with two applied frosted leaf and stem handles and is cased on the interior in white. This exact vase is pictured in the book 19th Century Glass by Albert Christian Revi, opposite pg. 22 in the top photograph as well as in Ruth Webb Lee’s 19th Century Art Glass, plate #20. MT. WASHINGTON LAVA GLASS VASE. Bulbous shouldered vase with flared mouth shows many colors including lavender, green, blue, rouge and white with streaks of gold is set against a black background. STEVENS & WILLIAMS SILVERIA VASE. Classic form vase has a scalloped mouth and begins with a clear background with a multitude of silver, gold and blue flecks, ending with a green overlay of glass. MT. WASHINGTON GLASS INKWELL. Rare Mt. Washington square inkwell is done in black glass with rectangular panels on each impressed with flowers and leaves. The top of the inkwell is fitted with a metal collar and knob which screws and unscrews to regulate the flow of ink. The center of the inkwell is a clear glass ribbed neck with opening at bottom for dipping the pen. The interior of the inkwell contains a tin reservoir for the ink. The bottom of the reservoir retains the original paper label with instructions and “Mt. Washington Glass Co., New Bedford, Mass. Headquarters in America for rich cut and decorated glassware. Sole Prop’s & Mfr’s of Darling’s Patent Ink Stands”. The front edge of the inkstand is impressed “Pat. Aug. 30 1887”. SIZE: 3-1/2″ sq. LOBMEYR ENAMELED VASE. This vase is decorated with an enameled Islamic design, circa 1884. With a Turkish feel, this vase is enameled in brilliant hues of green, blue, red, yellow, white and pink with gold gilding on an amethyst ground. LOBMEYR MINIATURE VASE. Very pretty miniature vase is decorated in panels with a purple floral design with green foliage, having gold highlights overall. These colors are set against a frost ground which truly enhances the color and detail of each floral panel. Signed in gold gilt under foot. SIZE: 2-1/4″ t. BRONZE AESTHETIC MOVEMENT FLOOR LAMP. Very unusual bronze floor lamp base is classic aesthetic movement design with three legs ascending from cast turkey feet. The legs are decorated with turquoise art pottery tiles and end in downward facing bird heads having long slender beaks. Above the bird heads is a triangular section with twisted pillars at each corner and an art pottery tile in the center. A cast section of three bird heads supports an openwork font. According to the website at Williams-Proctor Arts Institute Museum of Art in Utica, New York. The lamp base was made by R. Hollings & Co. and the art pottery were made by J & J Low Art Tile Works. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with a slight casting split on center column from the mfg. Font and font collar appear to be slightly different patina. RARE LIBBEY GLASS COLORFUL ADVERTISING POSTER. This colorful late 19th Century lithograph poster depicts the Libbey Glass Co’s factory in full operation at the World Columbian Exposition with elaborate building with banners flying with the words “Libbey” and innumerable people of all denomination mulling about outside. This was printed and distributed as an advertisement for the Blue Ridge Household Chemicals. SIZE: 21″ x 29″. CONDITION: Originally had metal bands at top and bottom now missing. A crease extends fully across the lower portion of image, starting with 4” tear and right and ending with 3” tear on left. Some old tape reinforcement at that point. A couple of other creases scattered throughout the picture. Light discoloration distributed in the sky. Tear in upper right corner near Blue Ridge advertising as well as some thick soiling at that point. Some discoloration and imperfection along the border. Color generally good. A rare Columbian Exhibition piece for Libbey Glassware. 1-9443 (350-550)

FRENCH ENAMELED CLOCK. Very pretty French clock has front panel enameled with a depiction of a courting couple speaking near a rock wall. The panel is surrounded by beautifully enameled scrolls and flowers against a light blue background. Each side of the clock is done in matching decoration with the side panels enameled with birds and flowers. The back of the clock is cast with stylized foliage in relief. The porcelain dial is decorated with gold 5-minute marks, gold filigree hands and is encircled by a bezel of white rhinestones. SIZE: Approx. 12″ t. Signed on underneath side with acid etched St. Louis insignia. 2) King St. Louis commemorative paperweight features a 1967 sulphide of King St. Louis with a millefiori garland, five side facets and one top facet. SUNKEN TREASURE ROSARY. On July 24, 1715 a fleet of eleven Spanish ships and one French ship departed Havana Harbor bound for Cadiz, Spain. On July 31, 1715 the entire Spanish fleet was struck by a hurricane and perished along Florida’s east coast. This outstanding gold and coral rosary is an authentic artifact recovered from wreckage of the Spanish fleet. The wreckage was discovered by the Mel Fisher Company, Treasure Salvors, Inc. The rosary consists of coral and gold beads along a yellow gold chain ending in a yellow gold crucifix with a skull and crossbones etched below the feet of Christ. ATOCHA TREASURE SILVER BAR TOP. Wonderful artifact from the Spanish Galleon Atocha which sunk off the coast of the Florida Keys in 1622. The treasure was recovered by Mel Fisher and his company Treasure Salvors, Inc. Many of the silver bars that were recovered in the Atocha treasure were subsequently melted down and cast into reproduction silver pieces found in the treasure and sold as less expensive souvenirs of the Atocha treasure. Before Treasure Salvors, Inc. melted the bars, they cut the top section of the bar off, which was stamped with letters and numbers that indicated purity as well as tax stamps and areas of origin. TWO SILVER ITEMS. 1) Beautiful sterling silver muffineer with allover repose flowers, stems and leaves with stippled background. The muffineer has initials engraved on the underside “EOM”. Hallmarks on the neck are a “B” within a diamond shape, a left facing rooster or ostrich head within a circle and an “S” within a diamond shape as well as stamped “Sterling 1143”. 2) Silver flip-top box with deep repose hunting scene of hounds chasing a stag within a center cartouche with scrolls and flowers around. Cartouche on backside is not engraved. Small cartouche on lid of box is engraved “D H Brook Presented by Doct. F. Davis”. Box is hallmarked “N.M.” within a rectangle, with a left facing woman’s head within an oval and what appears to be a “D” within an oval, thought to be Nathaniel Mills of Birmingham, 1827. LADY’S ROLEX WRISTWATCH. Very nice Rolex oyster perpetual, date just wristwatch is housed in a stainless steel oyster case with original stainless steel Rolex band. The watch has a mother of pearl face with silver luminescent hand and sweep second hand with small full cut diamonds at the hour with date panel at 3:00. The face is surrounded by a diamond bezel. The brooch is further set with four 4.2mm Old European cut diamonds with a total weight of approx. 1.0ct and having a clarity grade of VS1/VS2 and a color grade estimated to be G-H. There are fifty four additional single and full cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of 1.5ct and clarity grades ranging from VS1 to SI2. Color grades estimated to average G-H. LADY’S DIAMOND & SAPPHIRE RING. Extremely pretty lady’s Edwardian ring has a center 1.20ct diamond solitaire flanked on four sides by a total of eight quarter-circle synthetic blue sapphires with a narrowing band of Old European cut diamonds extending down each side. The center diamond is VS1 in clarity with an estimated color grade of H-I. The remainder of the diamonds have an approximate total weight of .16ct. The stones are all set in a lovely filigree 18kt white gold setting. Ring is accompanied by a jewelry appraisal done by a GIA graduate gemologist. SIZE: 3. Very lovely Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre antique center bowl is decorated on the exterior with the Woodland Elves V pattern depicting elves playing amongst the trees, birds flying against a midnight lustre background and a tall gold gilt tree with a birds nest and chicks with an arched bridge in the background. The interior of the bowl is decorated with Woodland Elves II pattern which depicts gold gilt trees that extend from the bottom of the bowl and form a leafy and floral border on the inside rim of the bowl. The open panels created between each stand of trees alternate with a flying fairy and a spider descending from its web. ROYAL VIENNA PLAQUE. Lovely Royal Vienna porcelain plaque has a depiction of Marie Antoinette in a red gown with striped bow and lace trim. She is wearing a period hat with lilac plumes and is holding a bouquet of roses. The portrait is circled by a dark blue border with gold gilt beading, lattice and filigree. HEART SHAPED PORCELAIN PLAQUE. Lovely small heart shaped porcelain plaque has wonderful portrait of a beautiful woman with long flowing brown hair and a red low-cut dress. LIMOGES TILE PLAQUE. Hand-painted tile depicting a working horse, possibly a Percheron, with harness, reins and work equipment. The horse is standing in a slightly barren field, and the overall plaque is painted in soft hues of blue, gray, brown and other earthen colors. The workmanship is of very high quality. DURAND HARD RIBBED GINGER JAR. Gorgeous large ginger jar is complete with matching lid. The lid has a yellow transparent glass applied finial. The lid and jar are decorated with vertically ribbed panels in colors ranging from deep burgundy to rouge, ending with pink in the center of each panel. A deep iridescent accent is shown on the vertical ribbing. This is an outstanding example of this color. Signed “Durand”, “1964-8”. Shade holders support five matching Quezal hooked feather teardrop shades with ivory background and beautiful iridescence overall. A stunning example of early 20th Century lighting. STEUBEN AMETHYST QUARTZ LAMP BASE. Wonderful amethyst quartz lamp base has beautiful crackling along with flecks of blue, yellow and red throughout the amethyst quartz body. The glass has acid cut back designs of flowers and leaves as is further decorated with applied and frosted leaves and vines which attach to each side of the neck to form graceful natural handles. STEUBEN ACID CUT BACK LAMP BASE. Outstanding Steuben rose quartz lamp base features an acid cut back peacock resting on a stylized tree with leaves and berries. The peacock’s head is topped with a royal crown and the heavy glass lamp base is mounted on a brass saucer foot with openwork design around the edge and four lion paw feet. MASSIVE STEUBEN PEGASUS LAMP BASE. Base begins with a citron colored ground and is decorated with a Pegasus in motion with clouds and art deco style suns in darkened hues. Decorating this acid cutback design is a layer of gold Aurene glass that has a molten effect. The glass portion of this base is monogrammed “G.B.WARD”. The large bulbous glass body is supported by an ornate metal openwork foot and decorative hardware supporting three sockets with three very unusual matching pulls. SIZE: 31-1/2″ t. PAIR OF STEUBEN MOSS AGATE TORCHIERES. Lamps begin with two beautiful moss agate cylindrical form shades with large scalloped mouths. The moss agate work created by Steuben has an ethereal feel with its amber ground with purple, blue, rouge, orange and green swirl effects. The shades are completed with a crackle finish and hints of copper foiling. The shades are supported by two ornate metal bases with rosettes and Art Nouveau leaves extending towards the single shaft that is twisted and adorned with acanthus leaves and ending with four curved feet all on a hexagonal shaped marble pedestal. STEUBEN CIRE PERDUE PLAQUE. Extremely rare Frederick Carder cire perdue plaque is cast in the likeness of Isabelle Lee. The heavily cast three dimensional plaque is beautifully executed with nice facial details and textured background. The glass has an internal wispy decoration at the shoulder which gives the appearance of a flowing silk scarf. Cire perdue: The cire perdue process is a “Lost Wax” casting of glass. When Frederick Carder stepped down as the head of Steuben, he stayed on as artistic director and spent much of his time working to perfect the cire perdue process. While he was able to create many wonderful pieces the process did not lend itself to commercial production and as a result very few pieces are known outside of museums. TURN TEPLITZ AMPHORA VASE. Beautiful Art Nouveau amphora vase is decorated with a lovely Art Nouveau maiden with long flowing hair with flowers in her hair. She is set against a background of stylized trees in various subtle shades of green and gold. Backside of the vase is decorated with a tree pattern matching that on the front background. Signed on the underside with a red stamp “Turn Teplitz Bohemia Made in Austria” and also marked with a blue marking “Amphora Turn” inside a shield. SIZE: 10″ t. MARCEL CHEVALIER PLAQUE. Outstanding Marcel Chevalier iridescent ceramic plaque depicts a woman sowing seeds with a setting sun and mountains in the background. It is reported that in 1897, Alfred Rosselin bought Airebelle in the Var area to make metallic lusters or iridescent ceramics. Marcel Chevalier left Clement Massier and went to work there. The plaque is after the famous Oscar Roty “La Semeuse” or the Sower of Seeds. The plaque has a wonderful iridescent glaze with strong flashes of gold, pink, green and blue. The plaque is finished on the back with a signature panel but the signature is indiscernible. The plaque is framed in a gold gilt frame with linen liner. SIZE: Plaque size is 11″ x 14″. LEADED GLASS TRANSOM WINDOW. Beautiful leaded glass transom window has three rectangular panels with cathedral shaped centers done in rich fiery orange and green mottled glass with swirling maroon glass borders. Each panel is framed in light blue to white glass rectangles and the entire window is mounted within a metal transom window frame. SIZE: 14″ x 25-3/4″. OPALESCENT LEADED GLASS WINDOW. Outstanding leaded glass window has three rows of twelve opalescent bulls eye glass jewels. The jewels are surrounded by a leaf and vine design of opalescent ribbed glass and all are surrounded by textured clear glass. The window is framed by a band of mauve colored ribbed glass and is mounted in a contemporary oak frame. SIZE: Window is 12-1/2″ x 37″. Overall 16-1/4″ x 40-3/4″. PARROT & AQUARIUM LEADED GLASS WINDOW. Exceptional leaded glass window has two magnificent parrots with drapery glass tail feathers and wings on each side of a plated aquarium with enameled fish and crayfish. The background glass is a very dark blue striated glass and the aquarium is plated with two layers. The window comes with a photocopy of the original invoice when the window was purchased in 1928 from J. Horace Rudy of York, Pennsylvania. The window was sold to a Mr. Howard Z. Fisher of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The window is also accompanied by a letter from Mr. Rudy stating that the window was made 30 years earlier and that the glass of which it is constructed was produced by Louis Heidt and John Dannenhaffer; two Alsatian Frenchmen who were considered the best glass makers in this country at that time. The verbal family history on the window is that it was displayed at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893, however there is no documentation to support this fact. With the quality of the glass and workmanship and assuming the Exposition history could be true, it is quite possible the window was done by John Lafarge. SIZE: 26″ x 45″. MOSAIC TILE. Outstanding glass mosaic tile was originally removed from the Standard & Poors building in New York City. The tile has a center “S&P” monogram and is surrounded by stylized flowers and leaves against a navy background. The floral section is framed by four rows of glass; the first being a clear row with gold foil backing, followed by caramel slag, followed by a thin row of clear with a darker gold foil backing, followed by a translucent striated amber. The tile is framed in a bronze case with heavy concrete backing. We are told that the tile was set in the entry way of the floor at the Standard & Poors building and was removed some years ago during renovation. The tile is unsigned, but because of the high quality workmanship, the construction technique and the glass used, we attribute it to Tiffany Studios. SIZE: 16″ dia. Each dragonfly has jeweled eyes. The exterior of dragonflies are finished with bronze filigree overlay in a desirable patina finish. RARE TIFFANY ENAMELED COVERED TRINKET. Stunning and rare enamel work seldom seen in any works by Tiffany, this tiny covered trinket is made of glistening copper, purple and green, with hints of pink, and depicts an art nouveau dogwood design with the rest of the trinket jar just having a nicely mottled coloration. TIFFANY STUDIOS DAFFODIL TABLE LAMP. Conical shade has a decoration of daffodil flowers to the lower edge in striated lemon yellow, butterscotch and chiffon hues. Radiating from the top are vertical panels of green glass in a multitude of colors from chartreuse to medium apple green to emerald which represent the foliage of the flowers. Set amongst this design is a soft periwinkle color glass which represents the background sky. The shade is completed with a single geometric row to the top and three at the lower edge in complimentary colors. The shade is supported by a mock turtleback base with a gold dore finish with the bronze turtleback tiles having a statuary bronze finish. Three sockets, riser, wheel and top cap complete the lamp. From these stems are seven glass shades replicated to look like lilies, each of gold favrile glass with a beautiful iridescent finish and ending in gentle scallops. This floral pattern is backed by green glass in the foliage design and other earthen hues of caramel and brown throughout. The shade is supported by an art nouveau library base with single ribbed stem on an inverted saucer foot that is also ribbed and finished with five ball feet. TIFFANY STUDIOS ARROWROOT TABLE LAMP. The arrowroot, a unique shaped plant to begin with, is created in a simplistic style representing a transitional period between Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts. Having strong vertical lines, the arrowroot are represented in a multitude of greens from the softest seafoam to bright apple ending with deep emerald. In amongst this arrowroot design is a white and yellow floral pattern. The shade has single rows of glass at aperture and lower border. The top portion of the shade is leaded in glass of white, yellow and green believed to be a sunlit background which adds to the organic feel to the lamp. Hints of light brown glass at the bottom of the shade may well represent the ground. The shade is supported by a large bronze base that carries a desirable patina finish with layers of red, green and brown. The bulbous form is supported by five bronze legs ending in cat’s paw feet on a circular saucer base. The base has a three socket cluster with riser, wheel and pierced top cap. TIFFANY STUDIOS TURTLEBACK DESK LAMP. Double turtleback desk lamp begins with two turtle tiles with heavily iridized coloration. When unlit appears blue, purple and green, but when lit, turns a warm mottled gold hue. The two turtleback tiles have two cased liners which give the lamp a finished look, but also makes for appropriate illumination so that this lamp is both beautiful and functional by directing the light downward. These turtlebacks are held in place by a heavily ornate support system which is held in place by two arms arising from a decorated jeweled platform foot. The entire lamp carries a desirable chocolate brown with hint of green patina finish. The lamp is completed with jewels in the base that compliment the turtleback tiles perfectly as well as a single acorn pull. TIFFANY STUDIOS WOODBINE TABLE LAMP. The Woodbine better known as Virginia Creepers are represented with full clusters of leaves, not flowers, which are typically found on Tiffany shades. The pattern is created in colors of red, purple, green and orange striated glass. Instead of having geometric rows at top and bottom, this unique shade has half and oblong hexagon shaped pieces of fracture glass in green. Fracture glass is a very attractive glass filled with tiny bubbles into which embedded flakes, splinters and long slivers of secondary glass was added in various colors. This produces a wide variety of shapes and coloration in each panel of glass. The shade is supported by a simple inverted saucer foot base with single stem, three sockets, wheel and top cap. TIFFANY STUDIOS MOORISH DOUBLE STUDENT LAMP. Early Tiffany Studios double student lamp has twisted rope Moorish designs applied to the sides of the cylindrical font as well as the base. The base has a stylized flower design with the petals being decorated with applied pebbles. The outside edge is finished with four horizontal rows of twisted rope. The base supports two Tiffany decorated gold favrile shades with strong purple, blue and green highlights. One shade is marked “G14”, the other marked “G19”. Base is unsigned. E. MICHEL WHEEL CARVED CAMEO VASE. Extremely fine E. Michel vase has beautifully carved amethyst and green stems and leaves flowing upward around the entire body of the vase. Each stem supports a magnificently carved amethyst poppy. The cameo work is set against a light amethyst background that is intaglio carved with further stylized stems and leaves. The vase is finished with a light amethyst foot decorated with a simple stylized flower surrounding the stem. The rim is finished with a green scalloped design and deep amethyst band. Signed on the underside in the polished pontil “E. Michel”. E. Michel was noted for exceptionally fine work and because of his limited production these fine pieces are extremely rare and very seldom seen on the market. E. MICHEL CAMEO VASE. This spectacular sculptural cameo vase features light green stems and leaves extending from the foot against a simple frosted background. The stems support a heavily padded and deeply carved amethyst iris. The detail and depth of the iris flowers is absolutely outstanding. The vase is further decorated with padded and wheel carved buds in various stages of bloom. We have never had a piece of cameo glass with this much depth of carving which gives the vase a wonderful sculptural appeal. The vase is finished with a green band around the lip which is wheel carved to represent overlapping iris leaves. Vase is unsigned but undoubtedly the work of E. Michel.
