LOT OF FOUR ALLEN & WHEELOCK BAR HAMMER POCKET REVOLVERS. Cal 34. 3 are large frame SN 389, 659, & 1011. One has 3” oct bbl, another a 2-7/8” oct bbl and the other 3-7/8” oct bbl. All have bag handles with 2-pc walnut grips. The long bbl one has no finish, light pitting, very good grips, good mechanics. The other two have no finish, fair to good grips, good cylinder scene, good mechanics and one is missing the trigger guard. The 4th piece, SN 271, is a small frame model with 2-1/2” oct bbl, bag handle with 2-pc wood grip. The cylinder has a rolled scene of rabbits, dogs, house, and a man with horse. CONDITION: Good to very good. All matching. No original finish remains being a silver-gray patina overall. Grips are worn but fine with traces of original finish, 85% original cylinder scene. Strong dark bore. Good mechanics. 2) SN 581, 2nd model with 5” oct bbl, brass front sight and 2-pc walnut grips. This may be a transition piece as it has both 2nd and 3rd model features. It also has the grip screw installed from the right side rather than the left as in all of the other comparable revolvers, including the 3rd model. CONDITION: Very good. All matching including the grips. No original finish remains. Polished bright with some fine surface pitting. INSCRIBED SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1-1/2 SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal 32S&W. SN 12073. Nickel finish with 3” key hole bbl and black hard rubber grips, accompanied by a period black leather flap holster. The backstrap is inscribed “Dick Liddell/Las Vegas, NM”. CONDITION: Good. Retains about 75% original nickel with the flaked areas a silver patina and a few spots of surface pitting. Grips are fine with moderate wear. Good mechanics. Strong bright bore. LOT OF TWO LEFACHAUX PINFIRE REVOLVERS. 1) Cal 9mm, SN 8299, French made revolver, unmarked with 4-5/8” oct bbl, tall front sight with deep relief gutta percha grips with 2 griffons and flowers on each side. The frame and cylinder are very nicely engraved in foliate patterns with punch-dot backgrounds, nickel plated. CONDITION: Fine. 50-60% nickel, broken main spring, extremely fine grips. 2) Cal 8mm, SN 768, Lefachaux marked with 3-1/2” oct bbl, missing the front sight, having full coverage etch engraving, the top flat has engraved “Lefachaux Brevete”. Belt size pepperbox with 3-1/2” 6-shot, fluted bbl cluster, attached nipple shield, engraved receiver with 2-pc bag shaped grips. CONDITION: Worn, silver brown patina, missing 3 screws from nipple shield, refinished grips, mechanics need attention. 2) French Flintlock Pistol. Cal about 62. 9” oct to rnd bbl with rib, 1-pc stock with replacement iron ramrod. Brass furniture with fancy thumb plate with filigree sideplate with a dolphin. Fancy trigger guard with floral finial and a demon face. The wood has raised carved teardrop side plates with raised carving around the trigger guard, nose pipe and bbl channel. There are small raised carvings between the trigger guard and nose pipe. Large brass butt cap. CONDITION: Fair, crusty brown bbl, dark brown patina on the brass, missing sliver from bbl channel and a large sliver around the lockplate. Trigger guard is sprung. RELIC MODEL 1816 FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 54. Has all the appearances of the Model 1816, no visible markings except a “US” proof at the breech end of the bbl. It has all iron furniture with a brass upward tilting pan, is about 15-1/2” overall length with a brass sight on the front of the split band. CONDITION: Severely pitted from exposure with the wood also eroded. Top jaw appears to be a replacement as are the two lock screws and the ramrod. Stock has a crack behind the sideplate and is missing a large chip of wood by the upper screw. Mechanics seem to function. 4-51041 JR528 (200-400)

ALLEN & WHEELOCK CENTER HAMMER NAVY REVOLVER. Cal 36 lip fire. SN 176. Usual configuration with bbl cut to 3-1/4”, homemade front sight with 2-pc walnut grips, probably was initially nickel plated. Accompanied by a late belt and holster rig with cutaway holster and old single layer belt with rectangular iron buckle. CONDITION: Fair, as noted. Retains traces of original nickel on the bbl and frame and about 50% nickel on the cylinder. Grips are sound, battered on the bottom, strong dark bore. Mechanics are fine. Holster was cut away to accommodate this old revolver a long time ago and has a home stitching job by the trigger guard. Loop is broken away from the skirt. Belt has a replaced buckle billet and has had the tongue billet relocated, is dry with a worn surface but is loose and flexible. 4-50652 JR293 (200-400)

The left side of the receiver is lightly engraved with the maker’s name and the right side is marked “London”. CONDITION: Very good. Moderate to heavy wear with a fine mellow patina on the brass. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang. Mechanics are fine, battered screws. 2) Cal. 36. All steel, with 1-1/2” cannon muzzle screw bbl box lock action with bag shaped grip. The left side marked “Dit Biron” and the right side “Lambert”. There are three proofs on the bottom. CONDITION: Light, cleaned metal color with scattered very fine surface rust. MERWIN & BRAY (PLANT) FRONT LOADING REVOLVER. Cal 30 cup fire. SN 4615. Small brass frame revolver with 3-1/2” ribbed oct bbl, marked on the top “Merwin & Bray Fire Arms Co. N.Y.”. It has unfluted cylinder with patent dates and the usual ejector on the right side, with 2-pc rosewood grips. It has what appears to be a spurious presentation on the backstrap “WASH BONNER SANSABA TEXAS”. The engraving is either of recent application or possibly applied late in the period of use as some of the lettering passes through some light dents, scratches, and marks on the backstrap. Accompanied by a period dark brown leather flap holster. CONDITION: As noted. Bbl retains 10-15% thin original blue. No finish remains on the cylinder, it being a medium brown patina. Frame retains about 20% oxidized silver plating in the very sheltered areas. Grips are sound with traces of original finish. Strong dark bore. The backstrap has two holes for a tang sight, the top flat of the bbl has the original holes for the original rear sight. CONDITION: Fair to good. The black umbrella is fitted with a removable sword having a heavy carved Victorian ivory handle, a gold plated filigree band with a button release fitted at the end of the ivory, the 13-1/2” tapered and angled double-sided sword blade with deep engraved design on over 50% of the blade. SIZE: Overall length of umbrella is 32”. Ivory handle is 5” long. CONDITION: Ivory has various old-age cracks; nickeled blade is in very nice condition. It is mounted in a 1-pc stock with front action locks marked on both sides with the distributor’s name and “HARRISBURG”. It has iron fittings with German silver wedge escutcheons, a checkered straight wrist and tiny cheekpiece with 7 small mother of pearl inlays. The buttplate is brass and semi-crescent with a faceted tang. Most unusual, however, is the engraved patchbox on the right side made of 3 pieces of brass with a German silver lid. A type of Zimmerschutzen rifle with 18-3/4” swamped medium weight oct bbl, fine original bbl sights, with a large front bore but no provision for a cartridge of that size at the rear. It is mounted in a 1-pc schutzen stock with iron furniture, a schutzen trigger guard with wide spaced double set triggers and elaborately carved and checkered buttstock. It has a swivel stud in the stock and a schutzen style buttplate. The top tang has a square base for a tang sight. ALTERED EUROPEAN PERCUSSION MUSKET WITH RAWHIDE SCABBARD. Cal about 65. Musket is an old altered trade musket with the bbl reduced to 19-1/4”. It has a bottom rib and a single iron band and is 34-1/4” overall. On the left flat about 4-1/2” from the back end is stamped in barely legible letters, “USID”. It is presumed that this stands for US Interior Department which was the government agency responsible for Indian affairs. It has a long banana shaped lock with a brass inlay near the front and the butt is stamped in large letters “1E1852”. This appears to be an Indian “blanket rifle”. It is accompanied by a rawhide scabbard 27-1/2” long with buckstitch lacing of more recent manufacture. CONDITION: The musket is poor with the iron having a dark crusty patina with heavy pitting and some burn around the nipple. Scarce old fowling piece with 53” unmarked round bbl, 68-1/2” overall length, with brass furniture, built on a half stock, probably walnut, with raised side panels and two wedges through the forestock. LOT OF 7 CANVAS & LEATHER CARTRIDGE BELTS. Three wide Mills canvas belts, two for large rifle cartridges and one for 12 ga. shot shells. All three have large dog’s head Mills buckles. The two rifle belts have early buckles with full addresses and the shotgun belt buckle with only the maker’s name and patent number. One rifle belt is near new with about 50% gold wash. The other rifle belt is very worn and stained and retains about 70% gold wash. The shot shell belt is moderately worn with a torn loop and the buckle retains 30-40% gold wash. The fourth belt is a Mills prairie type belt for rifle or handgun cartridges with a medium sized dog’s head buckle with complete address and no patent number. The patent number is on the adjustment tab. This belt is extremely fine showing little wear with the buckle retaining about 50% gold wash. The fifth belt is a blue militia belt for large rifle cartridges with a square “US” buckle with full address & patent number, in fine condition with dark buckle. The sixth belt is a shot shell belt without buckle, only the adjusting tabs. It is soiled with moderate wear. The seventh belt is a size 34 leather belt with shoulder harnesses and brass cartridge clips, patented “1884”. VERY LARGE HOMEMADE KNIFE. Large decorative knife with curved clip point Bowie shaped blade, about 17” x 2”, with a modest curve, flat ground, probably made from an old saw blade. It has an iron hand guard with a massive crown stag handle. There is a polished area on the bottom of the handle that has very old hand scratched letters “Hoyt / 1 VA Regt”. It has an iron ferrule at the hand guard. CONDITION: Blade & handle show decent age with pitting on the blade and a wonderful dark patina on the handle. LOT OF 7 SPRINGFIELD ANGULAR SOCKET BAYONETS. Five bayonets are 1861 pattern, all marked U.S. without scabbards. One is bright and clean with light spotting. Two have dark patina. One is missing the lock ring. Two others have their scabbards with frogs and U.S. brass buttons. Both have light patina with scattered fine rust, one has an “S” and an “A” inspector mark. One frog has inspector proofs and Watervliet Arsenal. One bayonet is for the Trapdoor Springfield with blue blade and blued metal scabbard with frog and brass hook hanger. Fine pitting on the blade, heavier on the socket, fine scabbard with moderate pitting. The last item is an 1861 sized fencing bayonet with 16” leather covered blade that has a large knob on the tip. The leather is marked “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1906” with 2 sets of inspector initials. The leather is dry with worn edges and some loose stitching. LOT OF 2 CIVIL WAR BELTS AND A PRAIRIE BELT. 1) Mills type canvas belt with 50 large diameter rifle cartridge loops, brass fittings, and a large “US” brass buckle. The belt is yellowed but sound and the buckle and brass fittings have a nice patina. 2) Plain black belt with sword hanger removed, rectangular brass “US” buckle. Also included is a black “US” marked McKeever box for large diameter cartridges. The belt is supple and clean, the box is dry with crackled edges and verdigris around the brass. The brass buckle tab is missing from the belt. 3) Dark brown belt with hook adjustment and rectangular brass “US” buckle with original tab attached. The tab end of the belt has 2 sets of inspector initials and the buckle end of the belt has a large “50” stamped on it. Also accompanied by a brown “US” McKeever box for large cartridges. Marked on the back “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL”. Additionally accompanied by a socket bayonet for trapdoor rifles with bright blade and blued socket with fine blued metal scabbard with brown frog marked “A.R. SMITH”.
