Small pistol with 2-1/2″ rifled oct bbl, flat side receiver with safety, folding trigger, engraved on the left side with light patterns and “Nock/London” in a ribbon. The right side of the bbl is mounted with a 1-1/2″ triangle shaped spring bayonet with latch on the right side of the frame. P. POST UNDERHAMMER PERCUSSION PISTOL. Cal. about 50 Smoothbore. NSN. Dainty little pistol with 9-1/4″ rnd bbl with long top & bottom tangs. The top flat has the maker’s name “P. POST N.Y. B.C. WOOD”. It has fixed sights with 1-pc nicely figured rnd walnut grip with engraved brass oval buttplate. The trigger guard serves as the hammer spring. It has an iron guide on the bottom of the bbl with a long nose-pipe containing a replacement ramrod. CONDITION: Fine, light, silver/brown patina on all the metal except the trigger guard, which retains a dark blue patina with a few spots of light rust, possibly an old replacement. LOT OF TWO UNDERHAMMER PERCUSSION PISTOLS. (1) D.H. Hilliard Target Pistol. Cal. 36. SN 166. Fine target pistol with 12″ heavy oct to rnd rifled bbl, globe front sight with screw adjustable rear sight mounted at the very rear of the engraved top tang. The left top flat has the maker’s name, over-stamped “RB Yeaton / Cornish / N.H.” It is mounted in a fine 1-pc walnut stock with rounded sides, brass escutcheons with a brass bottom plate and rear cap. With iron trigger guard, it has an angled, rounded grip with ball shaped bottom. The bottom flat of the bbl, just in front of the nipple, is stamped “2 — 3-3/8″ and the serial number is just behind the nipple and also on the rear sight. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains about 40-50% thin orig brown. Top strap has been cleaned nearly bright. Stock is sound and retains about 80% orig varnish. Mechanics are fine. Strong bright bore with light pitting. KENDALL UNDERHAMMER RIFLE. Cal. 40. SN 789. Typical New England underhammer with 29-1/4″ oct bbl, dovetail front sight and long, orig, V-notch rear sight with some hand-scribed decorations. The top tang is lightly engraved and is stamped “SMITH’S IMPROVED PATENT STUD LOCK”. It has a serpentine brass trigger guard with brass trigger plate and a crescent brass buttplate stamped “789” on the tang. It also has a reverse mounted, simple, 2-pc, brass patch box on the right side of the butt. The bbl has four iron guides with a replacement ramrod. CONDITION: Very good. Iron retains a medium brown smooth patina with a few nicks & dings. Brass retains a dark mustard patina. LOT OF TWO UNDERHAMMER PERCUSSION RIFLES. (1) D.H. Hilliard. Cal. 38. SN 508. Usual configuration with 25″ medium weight oct bbl, muzzle turned for bullet starter, German silver dovetail front sight and fine V-notch rear sight. The top flat has had the orig seat plugged and moved to its current location, apparently with a replacement sight. The target sight is missing. The left top flat has the maker’s name with “CORNISH N.H.”. It has iron guides with what may be the orig ramrod and brass furniture on the stock. The stock is tiger striped maple with a sweeping shadow-line cheek piece that has an elliptical silver inlay with a rectangular brass inlay on the right side. Accompanied by a set of modern made tools including a turn screw, nipple wrench with nipple pick in the handle and a brass & iron bullet starter. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl retains a smooth brown patina with a cleaned area around the orig dovetail. Top tang is bare metal. Stock is sound with a dark old patina and a few scrapes and old cleaning marks. Mechanics are fine, tools are crisp. (2) Unmarked Long Barreled Underhammer. Cal. 32. NSN. Unusual Kentucky style underhammer with 37-1/2″ oct bbl, German silver front sight, fixed rear sight with some light crude decorations on the top flat. It has a narrow, pointed, top tang with brass furniture in a more modern tiger striped maple stock with simple 2-pc patchbox. The bbl is secured with three pins & the stock has a long nose cap. The nipple is through the wood with a repaired hand forged hammer. CONDITION: Good. Iron has a dark brown crusty patina. Wood shows moderate to heavy wear with an old black finish. Usual configuration, 5-1/2″ oct to rnd bbl, marked “ALLEN & WHEELOCK” with rnd action and smooth bag shaped grips. It has a shotgun style hammer. CONDITION: Good. Light to medium gray/brown patina with a few nicks & dings and vice marks on the frame. Grips are smooth with no finish. Hammer is probably an old replacement with no safety notch. (2) Union Arms Pepperbox, Cal. 32, SN 40. Conventional configuration with 2-3/4″, 6-shot, fluted bbl cluster, shielded nipples, bar hammer, with 2-pc bag shaped walnut grips. LOT OF TWO PERCUSSION PISTOLS. (1) Bacon Arms Center Hammer Ring Trigger, Cal. 36, SN 88. Similar to Allen & Wheelock with 4-1/2″ oct to rnd bbl, tiny bead front sight, marked on the top left flat “BACON & CO / NORWICH C-T”. The left flat is marked “CAST STEEL”. It has a rounded frame with offset center hammer, unusual ring trigger with 2-pc bag-shaped walnut grips. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbl retains an even thin blue patina with traces of bright blue. Frame is a gray patina with battered sideplate screw. Grips are fine with about 95% varnish, good mechanics. (2) Unmarked Toy Gun. Strange little toy with 4-1/2″ oct sheet metal bbl, center hammer, mounted in a 1-pc stock with sheet metal bbl band and sideplate with escutcheon around the trigger. It apparently was designed to fire a percussion cap only as the bbl would never stand a full charge. COLT MODEL 1849 POCKET REVOLVER. Cal. 31. SN 27849. Usual configuration with 5″ oct bbl, brass grip frame and 1-pc walnut grips. CONDITION: Fine. All matching including the wedge. No orig finish remains having been cleaned to a bright metal color. Grip frame retains minute traces of orig silver-plating. Grips are sound and retain virtually all of their orig bright factory varnish with only a small nick & slight wear on the bottom edges. Cylinder retains about 75-80% stagecoach holdup scene and four of the safety pins are intact, the other two are missing. Will not hold on half cock, otherwise mechanics are fine. ALTERED COLT 1860 ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44. SN 185021. Parts gun that may have been a conversion at one time, now restored to percussion. It has 5-1/2″ rnd bbl with properly relocated front sight, rebated cylinder, brass trigger guard, iron backstrap with 1-pc wood grips. The bbl is numbered “141552”, the trigger guard “129177”, with a small “US” underneath, the backstrap “23129” and the cylinder is unnumbered. The rammer slot is professionally filled like a Colt conversion. CONDITION: Fair to good. No orig finish remains being a medium gray patina with some fine surface spotting. IXL POCKET MODEL PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 31. SN 81. Unusual little dbl action only revolver with 3-3/8″ oct bbl, dovetail front sight, 5-shot cylinder with 2-pc flared butt walnut grips. It is completely unmarked except for the serial number on the bottom of the bbl and on the left side of the grip frame. The flat-sided frame is lightly engraved with foliate arabesque patterns. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains a medium gray patina and the frame, traces of orig finish. Cylinder retains about 90% bright blue. ROLLIN WHITE SINGLE SHOT PISTOL. Cal. 32 RF. SN 359. Unusual swinging breech pistol with 3″ keyhole oct bbl, German silver half moon front sight, flat-sided brass silver-plated frame with 2-pc rosewood grips. A small button on the left side of the frame releases the breechblock, which pivots to the right and allows for loading & unloading. It has an attached manual extractor. Only about 3,000 of these were made in the period 1861-64. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl retains about 85% orig blue, thin on the sides & bottom, bright in the sheltered areas. It has flat-sided brass frame with square butt rosewood grips. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains traces of orig finish being mostly a silver/gray patina with scattered spots of light surface rust. It has a 4″ rnd Colt bbl that has had the rammer removed and has 2-pc walnut grips. CONDITION: Poor. 25-30% nickel remains on the frame with the balance dark patina. MASSIVE TRATNER PATENT DBL ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 577. SN 39288. Extremely large bore revolver with 4-5/8″ ovoid shaped bbl, pin front sight, marked on the top strap “JAS. BEATTIE & SON, 205 REGENT ST LONDON”. It has a flat-sided frame with 5-shot fluted cylinder that has an attached plate with the index notches for the cylinder stop around the edge and holes for the firing pin. It has an iron trigger guard and checkered 1-pc walnut grip with a Lanyard loop in the butt. It appears to be missing a small piece from the right side of the frame. CONDITION: Good to very good. No orig finish remains being a silver/gray patina overall with scattered fine surface pitting. Hammer nose is broken and it will not hold at full cock, otherwise mechanics are fine. RARE & UNUSUAL AMERICAN PARLOR RIFLE. Cal. About 177. NSN. Very unusual little rifle with 30-3/4″ oct to rnd bbl of which only about the front 5-3/4″ is actually bbl. It is loaded from the front with a single ball without a powder charge with propellant by a percussion cap, loaded through a rectangular opening in the bottom of the bbl. It has a back action lock with percussion style hammer that connects to a rod, which extends to the upper end of the bbl, which strikes the percussion cap. It is mounted in a nicely figured walnut stock with rounded pewter nose cap with the rest of the furniture made of brass. It has a serpentine trigger guard with dbl set triggers & crescent buttplate with toe plate. CONDITION: Very fine. Iron retains most of a very old professionally restored rust blue. ENGLISH PERCUSSION FOWLER. Cal. About 14 bore. NSN. High grade fowler with 38-1/2″ oct to rnd bbl with British proofs on the left top flat and a deep chop mark “LONDON” on the top of the breech. The breech plug has two wide gold bands and the top tang is nicely engraved. It has German silver furniture with two guides on the bbl with a short nose pipe. The lockplate is German silver marked “WM CHANCE” and has the unusual feature of completely surrounding the bottom of the tumbler, apparently to reduce wood burnout. The lockplate is lightly engraved. It is mounted in a straight grain walnut half stock with engraved nose cap and two fancy escutcheons for the wedge. It has a fancy trigger guard/grip and a smooth buttplate with engraved tang. There is a heart inlay on the top of the wrist and a bird dog inlay on the bottom of the stock. Accompanied by a brass tipped replacement ramrod that is too short. CONDITION: Good. Dark brown patina on all the iron with heavy rust on the hammer and around the nipple area. Stock has a repaired crack through the forestock, has a new crack by the top tang and retains most of an old refinish. Good mechanics. SMALL FULL STOCK PERCUSSION KENTUCKY RIFLE. Cal. About 42. NSN. Dainty late Kentucky with 31-1/4″ oct smoothbore bbl, fixed sights, with late style front action lock. It is mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with raised side panels, brass furniture and crescent buttplate. It is made without forend tip, with one brass guide and nose pipe with faceted typical trigger guard. Accompanied by a very old replacement hickory ramrod. CONDITION: Very good. Metal retains a mottled silver/brown patina with heavy rust on the hammer and light to moderate pitting on the bbl. Wood is sound with the brass retaining a dark mustard patina. UNMARKED SMALL HALF STOCK PERCUSSION HUNTING RIFLE. Cal. 45. NSN. Small hunting rifle with 26″ oct bbl, fixed orig sights, with the lockplate marked “SPRATLEY” and Norfolk, Virginia. It is an old conversion from flint with dbl set triggers and has brass hardware with serpentine trigger guard, simple 2-pc patch box and crescent buttplate with short toeplate. It has a German silver squirrel inlaid on the cheek piece. The stock is nicely figured walnut with raised side panels and checkered straight wrist with iron forend cap and iron guide with brass nose pipe and a replacement ramrod. There are some initials scratched on the trigger bow. CONDITION: About good. Bbl is a medium to dark patina with fine pitting over most of the upper surface. Side of the hammer and around the muzzle has amateur punch decoration. Top tang screw is broken and it has a hairline back of the top tang. Wood retains most of an old refinish. N.R. TYLER OVER/UNDER PERCUSSION RIFLE. Cal. 45-45. NSN. Very well made rifle with 32-1/2″ oct superposed bbls, both bbls rifled, with German silver front sight and fixed rear sight. The top flat is marked “N.R. TYLER / VIENNA O”. The bbls are held together with three dbl dovetails and have three brass guides on each side with one replacement ramrod and the other missing. It has a back action lock marked “WHITMORE WOLFF / DUEF– CO / PITTSBURGH PA”. The hammer and ignition system are most unusual in that the hammer has a dbl striker with a sliding bar for the lower striker to hit the nipple on the lower bbl. It has an iron serpentine trigger guard, dbl set triggers and a nicely figured walnut buttstock with simple 2-pc brass patchbox. The left side flat of the top bbl is stamped “–TLEY. NELSON & CO. The top flat is marked “S.H. WARD” in large letters and “JAMESTOWN NY” in small letters. It has a front action lock, lightly decorated with matching engraved hammer marked “LEMAN / LANCTR. PA”. It is mounted in a 1-pc maple half stock with tiny cheek piece, brass furniture & dbl set triggers. It has replacement ramrod. Just behind the rear sight it is stamped “VII”. CONDITION: Good. Smooth, dark brown patina overall with light surface rust, heavy pitting around the tumbler. Stock has a crack on the left side panel and another hairline behind the lockplate, otherwise is sound with a dark oil patina on the buttstock, cleaned on the forestock. Mechanics are fine. Mounted in a homemade 1-pc walnut stock. CONDITION: Fair to good. Metal retains a dark crusty patina with very heavy pitting on the lockplate and around the nipple. EARLY GALLERY AIR RIFLE. Cal. About 32. SN 328. Deluxe heavy rifle with 20-1/2″ oct bbl, 7-1/2″ x about 2″ rnd receiver/air reservoir with 2-pc nicely figured walnut stock. The bbl has a tiny German silver front sight and an 80-meter rear sight, which was mounted in a dovetail cut through the name on the top flat. The top of the receiver is beautifully engraved with foliate arabesque patterns and a vignette of a peacock sitting on a branch. It has a rnd forearm with large shell-carved schnable tip with two dbl fleur-de-lis German silver escutcheons and a similar inlay on the stock cheek piece with another escutcheon on the right side. The entire bottom of the stock is overlaid with a German silver-plate that has a slot for the cocking lever to operate. The cocking lever also serves as the trigger guard. It has a brass crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Fair to good. No orig finish remains being a mottled gray/brown patina. Forearm has a long crack and two smaller ones with chips on the schnable tip. Stock is sound and the wood overall retains 60-70% varnish. Action spring is fine but it does not seem to cock, could be operator error. 4-54291 JR476 (300-500)

Unusual carbine made from a revolver with 23-3/8″ rnd bbl, usual New Model frame with large replacement trigger guard and homemade walnut stock. The metal is all painted black. CONDITION: Fair. Retains 60-70% black paint. Mechanics need attention, will not hold on full cock, battered screws, poor fit on the stock with a crack below the bottom tang. SCARCE ENFIELD SNIDER CONVERSION CARBINE. Cal. .57 SN 4391. Converted rifle with 25-1/4″ bbl, barleycorn front sight and reverse mounted ladder rear sight. It is mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with two bands and slotted head wiping rod. It has a brass buttplate with the number “327” on the tang and has the Enfield cartouche on the right side near the buttplate. The lockplate has usual markings with the date “1867”. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains about 70% strong orig blue with a couple of large patches of light surface rust. CUT DOWN REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE. Cal. Either 11 mm Danish or 43 Spanish. SN 0178. A very tired specimen with bbl reduced to 22-1/2″, no sights, two bands with forestock reduced accordingly. Extremely long replacement buttstock with unusual smooth buttplate. CONDITION: Poor to fair. Crusty brown patina on the metal, worn dark forestock, cracked wrist with bright patina on the buttstock. BANNERMAN PARADE RIFLE. Altered musket with 30-1/4″ metal & wood bbl, 46″ overall length. The bbl has a bayonet lug on the bottom with 1808 pattern split front band with sight and sling loop. It has a flat, screwed on middle band with large 2-pc trigger guard with sling loop. The lockplate is unmarked. It has an iron buttplate and slotted head ramrod. CONDITION: Good. No finish remains on the metal, it being a dark patina. Wood has several chips around the lock with usual nicks, scratches & dings elsewhere and a big gouge on the forestock. BREVETTE ALLIN STYLE TRAPDOOR RIFLE. Cal. appears to be 45-70. NSN. Usual trapdoor configuration with 32-1/2″ oct to rnd bbl with three wide lands & grooves, two bands with square base front sight/bayonet lug and Belgian style reverse mounted musket ladder rear sight. The receiver has a faceted front ring with Allin style breechblock and a spring-loaded ejector. The lockplate is “1864” dated Springfield with a replacement or modified hammer and the stock and hardware are Springfield. It has a solid head ramrod. The breechblock has two Belgian proofs. No other marks were visible. CONDITION: Fine. Overall retains a smooth dark brown patina with some light fine surface rust on the receiver, breechblock & lockplate. Stock has two hairlines back of the lockplate and one in front otherwise the wood is sound with numerous moderate to heavy nicks, dings & scratches with an old dark patina. Bbl retains about 90% orig blue and the receiver about 85% blue with the mum having been ground and the dust cover missing. *ARGENTINE MAUSER MODEL 1891 MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 7.65 Argentine. SN D5070. Usual contract Mauser with 30″ rnd bbl, square base front sight and 2000-meter ladder rear sight. Usual Argentine receiver markings with ground crest. 1-pc walnut stock and tiny hand guard. It has Argentine inspector cartouche on the right side of the butt and appears to be all matching. CONDITION: Fine plus. Bbl retains 95-97% strong orig blue, the receiver retains about 85% orig blue with the ground area a light patina. Stock has several small bruises and normal handling & use marks and retains about 90% orig finish. Cartridge box retains about 70% blue. RARE MARS MODEL 115 PARLOR RIFLE. Cal. About 8 mm. NSN. Unusual little rifle that resembles a GEW K98 rifle, probably intended as a training aid. It has an overall bbl length including integral receiver of 30-3/8″ with a high barleycorn front sight and military style rear sight with German style side sling swivels. The receiver is marked “MARS 115” on the top and “VENUS WAFFENWERK ZELLA-MEHLIS (GERMANY)” on the side and there is a number stamped behind the trigger guard “K/315713”. Opening the bolt completely to the rear and apparently inserting a pellet in a rotating trap, which is 12” from the muzzle on top of the bbl, operate the action. Then, when the bolt is closed, it can be fired. CONDITION: Very good plus. Metal retains 75-80% orig blue mixed with light surface rust. Wood is sound and retains a fine hand rubbed patina. *REMINGTON MODEL 03A3 MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. SN 3986256. Standard 03A3 with 24″ bbl, standard sights, mounted in a Type C stock with no proofs or cartouches and with long upper hand guard. It has checkered steel buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Metal is as new, appears to be unfired, retaining virtually all of its greenish parkerized finish. *SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND. Cal. 30-06. SN 243885. Standard issue Garand with 24″ bbl, battle sights, 2-pc hand guard and 1-pc stock with canvas sling. It has a standard buttplate with trap. Accompanied by an orig “AFH”, short Garand bayonet with black grip panels and orig Fiberglas scabbard. This appears to be a parts rifle as no part number could be found on the bbl. It does however, have a National Match slide. CONDITION: As noted. Metal retains a light gray/green parkerized finish on the receiver with the bbl & gas tube being a dark gray finish & the trigger guard worn bright. Stock has a hairline back of the receiver and another in the lower hand guard and retains about all of a glossy finish with light nicks & dings. Good mechanics, bright shiny bore. *EARLY SPORTERIZED SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1903 RIFLE. Cal. 30 (Appears to be 30-06). SN 83529. Unmarked conversion, possibly by Griffin & Howe, uses the orig military bbl with sleeve ramp front sight and a Lyman 57SME receiver sight with target knobs. The area on the stock below the receiver sight has an old cutout, apparently for another model of receiver sight. It is mounted in an exhibition quality shell & flame grain Claro walnut stock, uncheckered, with black forend tip, hard rubber grip cap and checkered Winchester style steel buttplate and has a straight comb with cheek piece. The left side of the receiver has four holes apparently for an old Griffin & Howe side mount with corresponding relieved area in the stock. CONDITION: Very fine. Metal retains most of its fine custom finish with light edge wear. Stock is sound with five or six small grain checks on the right side and retains most of its fine custom finish. *SPRINGFIELD CUSTOM BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 25-06. SN 1213385. Built on a 1903 Springfield action with 26″ Flaig’s tapered rnd bbl, with Weaver bases & rings mounting a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10X scope. It is mounted in an uncheckered 1-pc tiger maple stock, 14-1/2″ over a black Pachmayr pad. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Metal retains virtually all of its fine custom finish, the stock has a couple of replaced chips back of the top tang and a hairline by the bolt slot, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of its custom finish. *TEXAS RANGER USED REMINGTON MODEL 742 SEMI-AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. SN 36253. Early 742 with 22″ rnd bbl, ramp front sight, removed rear sight. The receiver is mounted with Weaver rings containing a 4X scope. The forearm has the early style ribbing on each side and the semi-pistol grip stock is uncheckered with a checkered alloy buttplate. The left side of the receiver is hand engraved “D.P.S. 26025”. This rifle was owned and used by Texas Ranger Ralph Rohatsch Sr. when he was a Texas Ranger and is accompanied by a notarized letter from Ralph Rohatsch Jr. dated July 1, 2004 stating that this rifle was owned and used by his father during his law enforcement career. Also accompanying is a letter from the Texas Dept. of Public Safety dated Feb. 28, 1969 addressed to “Ranger Ralph Robert Rohatsch” expressing appreciation for his years of faithful service upon his retirement. Also included is a copy of a newspaper article regarding Mr. Rohatsch at his retirement. It reports that Mr. Rohatsch was one of the orig, fifty, motorcycle patrolman for the Texas Highway Dept. before the formation of the Texas Rangers. Also accompanying is a copy of a photograph of eight rangers of Company D at Alice, TX in December 1943, which includes Ralph Rohatsch. Another photograph is of a long row of motorcycle policemen in front of the capitol building, one of which is presumably Mr. Rohatsch. CONDITION: Very fine. Reportedly made for the Montana State Police, this little carbine has an 18″ custom rnd bbl with ramp front sight, button magazine, highly figured custom wood with straight stock and checkered steel buttplate and a Model 65 style forearm. Receiver is mounted with a Lyman 66 receiver sight and there is a staple & ring in the left side. The bottom of the receiver has had the serial number restamped, in addition has a large number “1312” stamped adjacent to the serial number. CONDITION: Bbl retains about 90% bright custom blue with some chemical spotting. Receiver retains a mottled artificially aged patina. Wood is sound with repaired grain checks in the wrist and retains most of its bright custom finish. Good mechanics, bright shiny bore. *SMITH & WESSON K-22 MASTERPIECE DA REVOLVER. Cal. 22. SN K74644. K-22, 5-screw model with scarce 4-1/2″ ribbed bbl, patridge front sight, adjustable rear sight, narrow high hammer with narrow trigger and silver medallion diamond checkered magna grips numbered to this revolver. A Smith & Wesson factory letter identifying this revolver, which indicates it was shipped April 12, 1949 to Krause Hardware Co., Cincinnati, OH, accompanies it. The bbl length is not mentioned in the letter but close examination indicates that it is probably a factory job as the crown is right, the rib setback is correct and sight placement is correct, but is not guaranteed. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains 92-93% strong orig blue, thinning on the bbl, with muzzle & sharp edge wear. Retains most of its case colors on the hammer, slightly faded, and about 75% case colors on the trigger. Grips show moderate wear with chipped diamonds and a few nicks & scratches. UNUSUAL TRYON DBL BBL DAMASCUS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 45509. Unusual dbl with 26″ Damascus bbls choked FULL/MOD with raised concave matted rib, single bead and rib extension. It has a sidelock action, outwardly similar to an L.C. Smith but with different cocking mechanisms. The lockplates are marked “TRYON’S DAMASCUS / PHILADELPHIA PA.” It is mounted with a nicely figured semi-pistol grip checkered stock and splinter forearm and has a serrated hard rubber buttplate and oval grip cap. The bbls are completely unmarked. CONDITION: Bbls retain 70-75% orig brown Damascus pattern, thinning with scattered surface spotting. Receiver retains good case colors in the sheltered areas with the balance a silver/brown patina. Lockplates retain 30-40% muted case colors with the balance turned silver and the trigger guard about 80% blue. Wood is sound and retains about 95% orig varnish. RARE & UNUSUAL J.M. WATSON AMERICAN MADE PERCUSSION DRILLING. Cal. 42 Rifle/10X10. NSN. A most unusual drilling with top mounted rifle bbl on the 35-1/2″ bbl cluster. The rifle bbl has a German silver Rocky Mountain front sight and fixed rear sight and is marked “L.M. Walton Altoona, P.A..” It has front action locks marked “WARD” and is mounted in a 1-pc half stock with checkered straight grip, simple 2-pc brass patch box on the right side, secured with a single wedge. The trigger arrangement is most unusual on a 3-bbl gun in that it is a single-set operation and each hammer must be cocked and fired separately. The right hammer fires both the right shotgun bbl & rifle bbl. The bbls have two iron guides containing what may be the orig hickory ramrod. It has a very large engraved trigger guard and long tang with pineapple finial and a pineapple finial nosepipe. It has a brass carbine style buttplate and the lockplates are lightly engraved. CONDITION: Fair. Bbls and all the iron parts retain a dark brown smooth patina. Left rib is slightly loose. Stock has a repaired crack back of the lockplates and retains most of an old refinish. Breechblock of the rifle bbl and right shotgun bbl show vice marks and some wrench marks. Mechanics need attention. PARKER MODEL GH DBL BBL DAMASCUS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 102580. Early Parker with 30″ Damascus bbls choked FULL/FULL with concave matted rib, single bead and doll’s head extension with extractors & dbl triggers. It has early “G” style engraving with two flying ducks on the left side, two quail on the right side and two pheasants on the bottom with light engraving patterns surrounding. It has nicely figured buttstock with splinter forearm and pistol grip, 14″ over a dog’s head buttplate. The wrist has a very old gunsmith repair consisting of two large brass plates having been attached with numerous screws over the wrist on each side to support what was apparently a shattered wrist. CONDITION: Fair to good. Bbls retain 40-50% thin orig Damascus pattern. Receiver is a gray metal color. Wood, as previously noted, retains a light patina showing heavy wear. LOT OF TWO DBL BBL SHOTGUNS. (1) W. Richards Damascus dbl. Cal. 14 ga. NSN. Belgian made dbl named to deceive buyers thinking they were buying the famous Westley Richards. It has 30″ bbls with smooth concave rib, single bead, marked “LAMINATED STEEL”. It has rounded action with side lever and back action locks, lightly decorated with the maker’s name on each side. Straight grain walnut stock with checkered splinter forearm and straight grip with an old Jostam pad. The stock has four wood inlays near the lockplates, apparently covering an old repaired shattered wrist. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain most of their fine, brown Damascus pattern with a few spots of rust. Receiver is a gray metal color and the lockplates have been refinished. Stock has a few grain checks & the wood retains most of an old refinish. Good mechanics, strong bright bores. (2) W. Parker Dbl Bbl Percussion Shotgun. Cal. 10 ga. NSN. Belgian made dbl with 30″ bbls, concave smooth rib marked “LONDON FINE TWIST”. It is mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with front action locks, long top & bottom tangs with a smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Fair. No orig finish remains. Bbls being a crusty dark brown patina. Locks have a silver/brown patina. Stock is very worn with hairlines back of the lockplates, a nailed repair on the left side and a crack on each side in front of the lockplates. Dark oil patina, good mechanics. CONDITION: Good. Metal is all cleaned bright with the bbls retaining 60-70% light Damascus pattern. Wood is sound showing moderate to heavy wear with a fine hand patina on the forearm and the stock retains about 80% varnish. (2) Enders Royal Dbl. Cal. 12 ga. SN 25805. Probably Belgian made but not proofed with 30″ steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with tapered matted rib, single bead and rib extension. It has undecorated receiver and lockplates with only the maker’s name on the left lockplate. It is mounted in straight grain walnut wood with checkered splinter forearm and semi-pistol grip stock, 14-1/8″ over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain 50-60% orig blue under old crud and surface rust. Receiver & lockplates retain 60-70% strong case colors under a layer of old crud and light rust. ENGLISH OAK REVOLVER CASE FOR ADAMS OR TRATNER STYLE REVOLVER. Fine oak case measuring 14-3/4″ x 8-1/8″ x 2-9/16″. It is typical English style with a reeded edge, brass medallion in the lid and green felt lining. It has a mortised brass lock with small rnd escutcheon, which is missing. The corners are dovetailed and it has the remains of blue/green paper over a pine bottom. It appears that it is for about a 7″ revolver and has compartments for flask, mold, cap tins, wiping rod, bullets, etc. CONDITION: Fine. Retains traces of orig varnish on the top with most of its orig varnish on the edges. A couple of the corner joints are a little gapped from shrinkage but appear to be solid. CONDITION: Fine. Couple of cracks in the bottom, retains most of an old refinish, the lining is fine, slightly soiled. Little or no damage. Spectacular 2nd generation Navy with 7-1/2″ oct bbl, pin front sight, case colored frame, rammer & hammer with small trigger guard on silver-plated grip frame with spectacular bird’s eye maple 1-pc grips. Beautifully engraved in Gustave Young style with full coverage on the frame, on the sides of the bbl lug & top flats with matching engraving on the rammer pivot, trigger guard, backstrap & butt. The hammer has Young’s distinctive wolf’s head pattern on each side. The backstrap is inscribed “COMMODORE JAMES H. CANNON / EDGARTOWN”. It is cased in a fine reproduction mahogany case with small brass plaque on the top inscribed “James H. Cannon”. Accompanied by a beautiful silver-plated angle spout, dbl sided Colt type flask, silver-plated 2-cavity mold with a “W” inspector’s initial and a silver-plated nipple wrench. Also included is a reproduction tin of Eley Bros. caps and a number of cast bullets. Additionally accompanying is a copy of instructions for using Colt’s pistols and a series of letters & invoices, between Mr. Klay and James Hughes Cannon of Edgartown, Mass. Ehler’s model with 7-1/2″ oct bbl, case colored and niter blue finish with two wide silver bands at the muzzle, another at the chamber end of the bbl, two more on the cylinder and another on the frame. The frame has about 90% coverage, very nice hand cut arabesque pattern engraving with matching patterns on the side flats of the bbl and top of the backstrap. LOT OF TWO UBERTI TEXAS PATERSON PERCUSSION REVOLVERS. Cal. 36. (1) NSN. Extra fancy model with 9″ oct bbl, beautifully engraved with 75-80% coverage on the frame with nice patterns on the sides of the bbl, backstrap, butt and around the trigger. The cylinder is etch engraved with stagecoach holdup scene. The muzzle and two places on the bottom of the bbl lug have wide silver bands with two more over the top near the cylinder. The cylinder has two wide silver bands and it is fitted with extremely beautiful carved ivory 1-pc grips. Each side has a fan at the top and at the toe & heel. CONDITION: As new, unfired, with faint cylinder line. Exceptional grips with fine yellow patina. (2) SN 228. Spectacularly engraved 1860 Army with 8″ rnd bbl, rebated cylinder, bright metal 4-screw frame & rammer with brass trigger guard & iron backstrap and burly 1-pc walnut grips. It is wonderfully engraved with full coverage on the frame and sides of the hammer in very nicely detailed foliate arabesque patterns with a blossom on the recoil shield. It has identical patterns on the bbl, backstrap, bottom of the butt & trigger guard and various other locations. It has a wide & narrow gold inlaid band at the muzzle and inlaid gold wire on each side of the bbl. It also has gold wire inlay between the nipples on the back of the cylinder. LOT OF TWO REPRODUCTION COLT CONVERSION REVOLVERS. Cal. 44. (1) 2nd generation Colt Walker with 9″ oct to rnd bbl, case colored frame with brass trigger guard, iron backstrap and 1-pc walnut grips. The conversion that has been applied is nearly identical to the Richards-Mason style of conversion with attached recoil shield and cut out for the firing pin. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl & cylinder retain about all of the bright orig factory finish. Receiver retains about all of its faded orig case colors. Grips are fine, mechanics are fine, and the conversion appears to function perfectly. (2) SN 56669. LOT OF TWO KNIVES WITH PORNOGRAPHIC HANDLES. (1) Japanese naval dress dagger with 10″ blade in the orig leather covered wooden sheath with engraved brass tip and throat with two hangers. It has a 5-3/4″ long ivory handle with thick oval ivory hand guard. The handle is beautifully carved in Netsuke style depicting an oriental couple engaged in graphic sex. The robes and shoes, faces & hair are scrimshawed with ink highlights. CONDITION: Hand guard has an age crack, otherwise it is fine with a light white color, possibly one spot of fill by the lady’s arm. Sheath is worn with loss of leather covering. Brass has a nice patina. (2) Small dagger with 5″ dbl edged blade, elliptical shaped hand guard with ball quillions, with a 3″ carved bone or ivory handle depicting what appears to be a monkey or an aboriginal person with a massive penis sitting on a stump. Blade is marked with the maker’s name & “Queens Cutlery Works / Sheffield” with a figure of the sun. Dark patina with hammer marks on the back of the blade. Chipped & bug eaten handle. (2) Early English sailor’s knife with 4-7/8″ blade in a bone & wood handle with brass bolster and extended blade protector with Lanyard loop. One has the orig outer sleeve. New in box; two Case XX Bowie Hunters with black leather brass bound sheaths in their orig boxes. One has the orig shipping sleeve. New in box; a Case M1 Astronaut’s knife. It has a wide curved 11-1/4″ blade with saw back and white Delrin handles. The blade is marked Model 1966 and SN 1460. It is mounted in a stained hard wood box with plaque, which states that this knife was designed for NASA and the Gemini & Apollo projects. The background diorama of the box has a model space capsule with the earth in the background. New in box; the last knife is a large Wostenholm & Son reproduction Bowie with 10″ clip point Bowie blade with nice file work on the back, German silver hand guard and horn grip panels. The side of the blade is etched with the information that this is #50 of 100 made by Wostenholm before their merger with Joseph Rogers in 1971. LOT OF TWO EDGED WEAPONS. (1) Early hand forged trade hand axe with 8″ overall head with blade that flares to 3-5/8″ and has a 1-1/2″ socket that has been pounded out of rnd on the top. It has a very old homemade haft with bug holes and a few splits. The left side of the blade has a stamped 8-pointed star. CONDITION: Overall fine, dark brown patina. (2) Unusual dbl edged knife with sheath. Knife is 21-3/4″ overall length with diamond shaped blade that flares from 1″ at the handle out to 2-1/4″ at the widest point near the tip. It has a small hide wrapped handle, sinew laced with old red paint. The sheath is two pieces of very light wood covered with the same light sinew laced rawhide that has a small copper disc at the bottom. CONDITION: Blade is slightly rusted with old grind marks and coarse stone marks. Sheath is sound, water stained with the remains of old red paint. OLD ICE AXE. This appears to be a very early ice axe, with 10-1/2″ head, having a pointed blade on one end with saw teeth on the back edge and a chopping blade on the other end that is 2-1/2″ wide. Overall 35″ long with two 5″ languets and a cap on the butt end with a 1-1/2″ square spike. There is a metal band screwed to the haft, near the butt end and it has a canvas wrist loop attached to a metal ring. CONDITION: Iron has an even dark brown patina. RARE WOODEN SHIP CAULKING WEDGE. Small hatchet shaped steel tool, 4-3/4″ high with slightly offset 3″ rounded blade with squared bottom, 1″ shank with a small haft hole and a tapered flat top head. It is marked on one side with what appears to be “PACIFIC———MILLS / U.S.S. CHARLESTON”. This tool was used for caulking the seams with oakum on a wooden ship. CONDITION: Very fine. LOT OF SWORD CANE & WALKING STICK. The sword cane is in a black wooden shaft, 32-1/4″ long and has a heavy silver-plated brass eagle head grip. The sword locks into the handle and when removed has a 25-3/4″ triangle shaped blade with needle point. The walking stick is light wood, probably walnut, 34″ overall including a lightly carved bone handle. CONDITION: Sword cane is fine retaining most of the black finish on the shaft with some brass showing through on the eagle head. Blade is bright & shiny. LOT OF TWO WALKING STICKS & AN UMBRELLA. (1) Fine gold headed stick, 33″ long, hard wood shaft with small gold deer antler, inscribed on the crown end with initials. (2) Slightly heavier walking stick, 32-1/2″ long, hard wood shaft, engraved rnd silver head without initials. (3) Large black umbrella with 10-3/8″ cast gold handle with 1-1/2″ knob, inscribed on the end with a worn initial and “GERTIE” on a ribbon on the side. CONDITION: Two walking canes are fine. Retain most of their lacquer finish with a chip or two and have light wear. Umbrella seems to function fine. Fabric is intact with a hairline crack in the handle. COPY OF GERMAN HIRSCHFANGER. Unusual copy with 17″ blade made from an old U.S. sword blade that is inspected and marked “US” on the right ricasso with the date “1863”. The tip has a 6″ back grind, it has cast deer hoof hand guard with oval languet of three deer. With stag handle & pillow shaped silver pommel. It has a leather sheath with German silver tip & throat. Only fair quality, very rough castings. CONDITION: Blade is moderately pitted, and scabbard is crackled & flexed with numerous dents & dings. 4-54458 JR296 (150-250)

RARE HALL SOCKET BAYONET. Usual configuration with 16″ triangle shaped blade, marked “US” and with inspector initials “XC”. It has a 3″ socket with about an 11/16″ hole. Stamped on the back edge “33”. These were the bayonets used with the Hall rifle for the period 1816-1850. CONDITION: Good to very good. Light surface discoloration with moderate spots of pitting, with some brown patina on the shank. A rare bayonet in decent condition. 4-54323 JR298 (400-700)

LOT OF TWO EARLY SOCKET BAYONETS. (1) Brown Bess type with 16-1/2″ triangle shaped blade, 1-1/8″ at the widest point, flat on top with hollow ground fullers on the back. It is marked near the shank end “Deakin” with inspector initials “H.S” and the number “8”. It has a short thick shank with 3-15/16″ socket that has a 7/8″ hole without locking ring. It has a reinforced collar at the back edge. CONDITION: Very fine. Light surface spotting, medium to dark brown patina. (2) Late contract 1795 musket bayonet with 15″ triangle shaped blade, flat on the top, with hollow ground fullers on the back. It has a short stiff shank with 2-11/16″ socket that has a 27/32″ hole without lock and has a “G” by the cutout. CONDITION: Fine. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY HUNTING KNIFE. Indian Wars period hunting knife with 8-1/2″ spear point blade, 2″ wide, sharp on one edge only, with rnd ribbed wooden handle and brass hand guard marked on one side “US SPRINGFIELD” and on the other side “2233”. Its orig leather sheath, with brass throat and brass hook hanger, accompanies it. The reverse is marked “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL” with the inspector initials “WTG”. CONDITION: Sharpened on a grinder with some surface discoloration and moderate to heavy pitting on the left side. LOT OF TWO TRAPDOOR TROWEL BAYONETS. Standard bayonets with 10″ spade shaped blade with iron handle/socket for trapdoor rifles. Accompanied by one orig sheath made of brown leather with metal lining and a brass tip. It is the early style with leather belt loop, which has dry rotted and broken away. CONDITION: One retains about 50% orig polish with some light surface rust & spotting. Handle retains about 40% thin orig blue with some light surface rust. The other retains 30-40% orig polish with some dark staining and a few spots of light rust that may clean. Handle retains about 90% orig strong blue with light spots of surface rust. CONDITION: As new. (2) 1917 Enfield bayonet dated “1917” with “W” in a circle and the date on the left ricasso with “US”, a flaming bomb and the Springfield eagle on the right ricasso. CANVAS & LEATHER PRAIRIE BELT. Authentic prairie belt with square brass buckle & tong that is 47″ overall length including the buckle and a 13-3/8″ leather billet. The tip of the billet is marked “Watervliet Arsenal” and the very tip is stamped “A.R. Smith”. The back of the tip has inspector initials “H.C.” The canvas body of the belt has 54 canvas loops for 45-70 cartridges and is stenciled on the inside “L. COLEMAN.” CONDITION: Well used but still intact with several frayed loops. Canvas is soiled and stained with a dark brownish patina. Medium size reel, 3-1/4″ diameter with solid gutta percha end and a nickeled center section with surrounding gutta percha on the other end with the balance of the metal all nickel-plated. It has a wooden crank handle. CONDITION: Good to very good. Solid gutta percha end has a crack through two of the screw holes, otherwise is sound. Small cast iron wall mount coffee grinder with repoussed tin hopper that has a coin sized medallion on the front with a spread-winged eagle and inscribed “THE CHARLES PARKER CO. MERIDEN, CT”. The top, front of the hopper is marked “NO 60” and the lid “PARKER”. It has a serpentine wooden handle crank and is mounted to a red painted board suitable for attaching to the wall. CONDITION: Very fine. Retains 92-93% orig black with some patina showing through. Mechanics are fine. Old red paint is crackled. VERY LARGE COAST GUARD MARKED POWDER FLASK. All brass flask with 8″ smooth bulbous body with four brass loop hangers and enclosed charger with huge brass spout. Both sides on the main body are stamped “U.S.C.G.” Presumable this stands for United States Coast Guard. CONDITION: Good. No orig finish remains having the appearance of having been near a fire with heavy black soot-like accumulation on one side, clean with water stains on the other. There is one large dent over the stamping on one side, possibly done during this operation. About 1″ of open seam on one edge. Spring is slightly rusty and the charging handle is rough. It has small hanger rings from the comb of the stock and the back of the butt. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Retains about 50% orig finish with the worn areas a medium mellow patina. MEDIUM SIZED POWDER HORN. Greenish colored left hand cow’s horn, about 14″ with faceted carved spout with wooden plug. G.A.R. DECORATED CIVIL WAR CANTEEN. Oval shaped Civil War era metal canteen, about 7-1/2″ diameter with a pewter spout, painted medium blue with a circle of gold stars and the inscription “G.A.R. / POST / 57 / God Bless Our Fallen Hero’s”. It has an old replacement strap through the loops. The canteen is painted white on one side with red, white & blue concentric rings on the other side. CONDITION: Paint is severely crackled and lightly soiled with a couple of old dents. (2) Rnd tin canteen with rolled edge, convex sides with three soldered tin hangers & solid neck with cork & wire pull. Painted a gray/green. CONDITION: Fair. CONDITION: Both nicked & dinged with brown patina, one with very good cavities and the other has good cavities with light surface rust; two “Colt’s Patent” 36 caliber molds. CONDITION: One cleaned nearly bright with good cavities, the other dark brown patina with light rust, lightly rusted cavities, missing the sprue cutter screw. The fifth item is a quite rare Frankford Arsenal 5-cavity ball mold, 30 caliber bronze gang mold with serial number “1879” and the inspector initials “O.M.L.” It has wooden handles with brass ferrules and an iron sprue cutter. EXCAVATED COLT MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36. SN appears to be 153407. Mostly complete, usual configuration, 7-3/8″ bbl, complete with rammer, missing the rammer catch stud, wedge & screw, backstrap & grips. The frame has a crack in the left side. LARGE FLINTLOCK LOCK. A large, very early lockplate complete with hammer & all the internals except the hammer spring. It also has a large frizzen and faceted pan and frizzen spring with spade shaped tip. The lockplate & hammer are completely flat and the hammer has a notch for a dog lock, which is missing. The lockplate, in front of the hammer, is marked “T. Gregory”. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Dark brown patina overall. Probably an old excavation with some moderate rust on the inside. Thorn.” It has a cancelled 3-cent stamp and has an eagle & flag. (2) Blank envelope “OUR COMPROMISE” with flag & firing canyon. (3) Blank envelope with a Zouave soldier “THE ZOUAVE DEFENDER”. (4) Blank envelope with the vignette of three Union soldiers prodding a male figure up in the air with their bayonets, titled “I ONLY WANT TO BE LET ALONE” and “JEFF’S UNBOUNDED AMBITION GIVES HIM AN ELEVATED POSITION”. (5) Blank envelope with “THE LOYAL STATES” with Lady Liberty holding a flag and leaning on the State Seal of Maryland. The right upper quarter has a large “UNION” surmounted with a ribbon that has “MARYLAND” on it. The letters of the word Union are covered with stars. NORTHERN RAILROAD CORPORATION FREIGHT RECEIPT. 5″ x 8″ document dated December 11, 1865 for five bales of goods from Nashua, New Hampshire to New York. LOT OF TOLEWARE HAT BOX & FLINTLOCK PISTOL. (1) Large tin hat box, 17″ x 7″ x 14″ with rectangular base & domed top with wire and wood handle. It is painted black with red border and a red Maltese cross on the front with a partial name at the bottom of the lid. It appears to be for a set of Masonic regalia or possibly another fraternal organization. CONDITION: Very good. Retains about 85% orig black & red paint, handle is good, rusted inside. This lot consists of a red velvet covered board, 16-3/4″ x 18-3/4″, completely covered with numerous miscellaneous memorabilia all relating to Sophie Tucker, apparently from donations and performances she gave over the years. There are two rosaries, a number of 6-pointed Hebrew stars and numerous other items with Jewish, as well as Christian, themes. There is the key to the City of Pittsburgh, a set of submarine wings, two other large keys, a pair of miniature pilot’s wings, a badge in Ms. Tucker’s name from the Miami Beach Police & Firemen’s Association, a special Deputy Sheriff’s badge from Cook County, an honorary badge from the Saratoga Springs Fire Department, an early Red Cross Pin, a 1951 New York Yankees World Series Pin, a Jersey City, NJ Police badge with Ms. Tucker’s name, a miniature bombardier’s wing & numerous other special items commemorating Ms. Tucker’s career. Also included is a set of three Decca 78 rpm records by Sophie Tucker and autographed “Best Wishes Sophie Tucker Latin Quarter N.Y. Nov 1948”. The cover has a picture of Ms. Tucker. SUIT OF ARTICULATED MINIATURE ARMOR. Extremely fine detailed suit of miniature armor with chain mail, a leather cuirass, complete with helmet, greaves, foot covers, hand covers, a shield, helmet, a miniature sword & scabbard, dagger & spurs and a miniature battle-axe. He measures about 13″ high and is mounted to a mahogany board in a homemade carrying case. There is a small silver plaque at the bottom which is inscribed “Sir John Harleston”. FULL BOX OF UMC 56-52 SPENCER CARTRIDGES. Square 25-rnd box, buff colored label with black printing, with picture of the cartridge. CONDITION: Good to very good. EXTREMELY RARE FULL SEALED BOX OF FRANKFORD ARSENAL 20 GA. BRASS SHOT SHELLS. This fine box measures 3-5/8″ long x 2-3/4″ deep x 1-1/2″ high. It is a 2-pc box with paper seal and stapled corners. The buff colored seal wraps completely around the box and is imprinted with a black label which states “10 / SHOT-GUN SHELLS, ‘ Primed, No. 20.” and goes on to give reloading instructions with the bottom line stating “Manufactured at Frankford Arsenal”. These cartridges were manufactured for use with the scarce Springfield trapdoor forager. Those rare shotguns were issued two to a company for use by government hunters & scouts at western outposts. The last known issue was in 1906 in Alaska. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Fully sealed and completely intact with one tiny puncture on the top, otherwise it has light soil with some foxing on one edge. It is full with “U” hand-stamped cartridges. CONDITION: Box is soiled and the label a little chipped & worn on the edge with small wear on top, but intact & legible. Green band is missing one portion of one end, otherwise is reasonably intact. Bottom label is about half missing. EXCAVATED PARROT SHELL. Ten-pound shell, about 8-1/4″ long x 3″ diameter with flared iron gas check rotating band. It has a hand written label attached which states, “10 # Parrot shell dug from the Southwest face of the fort at Sulpher Trestle. Col. Morton under Gen. NON-REGULATION HORSTMANN MODEL 1860 CAVALRY SWORD. 32” dbl fuller blade, etched on both sides with “W.H.HORSTMANN / & SONS / PHILADELPHIA” on the right side. The eagle and banner containing “E. PLURIBUS UNUM.” “IRON PROOF.” is etched on the spine of the blade. The iron guard has the American eagle cut as part of the design. Iron scabbard with brazed seam along the lower edge. CONDITION: Gray patina on the blade with moderate pitting at the tip. Hilt and scabbard are covered with a heavy brown patina. HORSTMANN NON-REGULATION CAVALRY SWORD. 33-1/2” dbl fuller blade, etched on both sides with “W.H.HORSTMANN / & SONS / PHILADELPHIA” on the right side, which also contains a stand of flags, an American eagle, and “E. PLURIBUS UNUM.” “U.S” and two stands of flags are on the left. The hilt is cast in one piece of brass. “IRON:PROOF” on top of the blade. The leather scabbard has replaced throat and drag. CONDITION: Gray patina on the blades with heavy edge wears. Brass has some tiny dents but has a nice patina. MANSFIELD & LAMB MODEL 1860 CAVALRY SABER. 35” dbl fuller blade marked “MANSFIELD / & LAMB / FORESTDALE R I” inside an oval on the left ricasso. “U.S. / J.C.W / 1864” is on the right ricasso. Iron scabbard with brazed seam on the bottom. The gold wire sword knot is attached to the rear of the guard. CONDITION: Blade is bright with scattered light surface rust and pitting. Hilt retains traces of a gilt finish but the branches are slightly bent. Leather cover of the grip shows two small areas of repair and some minor crackling. Scabbard has a gray/brown patina with moderate pitting towards the tip. Sword knot is solid but the strap is badly cracked. 4-54999-8 FS40 (400-600)

CARVED CIVIL WAR CANE. 32-1/2” cane with shaft relief carved w/24 star, 13 stripe flag near the top. Incised areas below this include a U.S. buckle, canteen containing “1861 / :65:”, a shield containing the letters “U.V.L”, and a rosette engraved “S.D.V”. The raised carved instruments appear to be mostly Army Corps. insignia and include stars, diamonds, Maltese cross, triangle, star & moon, arrow, shields, acorn, four leaf clover, anchors, etc. CONDITION: Fine. U.S. MODEL 1860 CAVALRY SWORD. 34-1/2” dbl fuller blade with rounded back. The markings on the ricassos are not readable. The leather wrap and wire on the grip are missing. FINE PRUSSIAN CALVARY SWORD. 32” straight single fuller blade is fully etched on both sides. The king and knight’s head of Klingenthal trademark is on the right ricasso. The right side of the blade is etched with a lancer on horseback, “Ulan. Rgt. Kaiser Alex.II.V. Russland (1.Brand.) No3” and horse’s head with other military themes and scrolls. On the left side is a “crown / A / II” followed by a cavalry charge & another military stand. The hilt has a Prussian eagle cut into one side of the guard, which folds down even with the turned horn grip. The iron scabbard has a black enamel covering & a felt cover as well. The portapee has a green leather strap and a silver acorn with a red cap and a plain braided leather slide. CONDITION: Excellent overall retaining most of the blue in the etched areas & most of the nickel-plating on the hilt. Black enamel on the scabbard has possibly been redone. 4-53743 FS38 (500-1,000)

LOT OF FIVE SWORDS. (1) Unidentified with etched blade & lightweight hilt. 30-1/2” single fuller blade. CONDITION: Fine overall with light pitting to the plated scabbard. (2) Unidentified medical officer’s sword with folding guard. 30-1/4” cruciform blade. Has proof marks but has not been identified. The catch for the folding guard and the covering for the grip are missing. CONDITION: Smooth gray patina on the blade. Tip of the scabbard is broken & there is moderate surface rust on the balance of the scabbard. Strong traces of gilt remain on the hilt. (3) “ISB” court sword. 32-1/2” straight single fuller blade. Has etched military themes on either side. Brass hilt has been silver-plated Wire wrap on grip is replaced. No scabbard. CONDITION: Mostly gray patina on the blade with traces of gilt in the etching, mixed with light to moderate pitting. Traces of silver remain on the hilt. (4) Unmarked lightweight German-style sword. 34” single fuller on right side of blade only. “….” on the right ricasso. Scabbard is missing. CONDITION: Scattered light pitting overall with strong traces of nickel-plating. Wrapping at the rear of grip is missing. (5) Blade and scabbard, probably German. 31-3/4” single fuller straight blade. Black painted scabbard with metal knot design at the throat. No grip parts except pommel. LOT OF TWO SCANDINAVIAN OFFICER’S SWORDS. (1) 31-1/4” straight dbl fuller blade is marked “E. SVALLING / ESKILSTUNA / crown / J.V. G.M” on the left ricasso. Both sides of the blade are etched at the rear half. The Swedish Triple Crown is on the guard. CONDITION: Blade is bright but has widely scattered spots of surface rust. Hilt is heavily worn with the wire missing and about a third of the leather is worn away. Scabbard has lost most of the black paint and has considerable surface rust and pitting. (2) “B.F. SVALLING / ROSENFORS” on the left ricasso. 28-3/4” straight single fuller blade is etched with an anchor on the right side and the crowned rampant lion on the left. The guard has the crown and anchor among military trophies cast in and is maker’s marked “MILIT:EKIP. / crossed swords / ANT:SOLAGE” on the quillion. CONDITION: Gray patina on the blade with spots of rust stains and pitting. Hilt retains about half of the orig gilt but is well worn on the grip. 4-54999-4 FS33 (200-400)

FRENCH NAVAL CUTLASS. 26-3/4” slightly curved single fuller blade is etched with an anchor on either side. The blade is dated April 1865 on the spine and the guard has been painted gold. CONDITION: Smooth gray patina with scattered nicks and areas of light pitting. Hilt has severe pits under the gold. Wood grip has also been repainted. 4-54999-11 FS45 (250-500)

LOT OF THREE HUNTING SWORDS. (1) Heavy Germanic sword has 23” straight blade, 1-1/2” wide with stag hilt. Gilt cross guard; scabbard is missing. CONDITION: Gray patina with nicks in the edge & some sharpening marks. . Hilt is very dirty and the pommel is slightly loose. (2) Kneckt short sword. 20” straight blade with light military engraving on both sides. Marked “J.Kneckt” on one side & “SOLINGEN” on the other. The wood grip is painted black. CONDITION: Badly battered on the edges with a rust brown patina overall. Only traces of gilt remain on the cross guard. Grip has several cracks that are still solid. (3) Parang with carved and inlaid hilt. 23-3/8” slightly curved blade. Hilt is carved with vines & leaves and has three silver flowers on each side. The brass cross guard is also silver-plated. PAIR OF SPANISH ARTILLERY SWORDS. 27-1/2” slightly curved blades, one marked “ARTAFABADE TOLEDO 1903”. The other is marked “F GA DE TOLEDO 1874”. The scabbards and mounts are identical. CONDITION: Both have bright blades with much of the gilt finish remaining on the external metal pieces. CONDITION: Fair to good with slight bends in the blades & considerable scratching to the paint. (3&4) Pair of Parangs. 16” blades with sine marks on either side of both swords. The wood scabbards are bound with rattan & have braided cloth hangers; probably 20th century. CONDITION: Very good. (5) Bull fighter’s sword. 33” dbl fuller blade with bend at the tip, wrapped cloth hilt with black silk knots. CONDITION: Fine. (6) French Gras bayonet, dated 1881. Numbers do not match. PORTABLE GUN RACK. Small hand made wooden rack, painted black, for eight guns, 24″ wide x 41″ high x 17″ across the base. It has small slots in the top for rifles or single bbl shotguns with dividers on the bottom. It has iron rod braces on each end and a lifting lock bar on the top front to prevent the guns from falling out. CONDITION: Very fine. SIX NICELY CONSTRUCTED HOMEMADE GUN RACKS. Six standing racks for long guns made of natural-finished wood. They have wells cut in the bases to accommodate the butts of the guns and prevent them from pivoting while in storage. One rack has extra-wide bbl cutouts to accommodate dbl bbl shotguns.
