*WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 SPECIAL ORDER “EASTERN” CARBINE WITH 3/4 MAGAZINE AND SHOTGUN BUTT.

SN 825317. Cal. 30-30. 20″ rnd bbl. 3/4-length magazine. Folding leaf rear sight and Lyman receiver sight. Straight grained American walnut stocks with Winchester shotgun buttplate. Known as “Eastern Carbines” because of the absence of a saddle ring on receiver. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube retain 80% orig blue finish with high point wear at muzzle and some staining at top of bbl. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver retains 20% blue finish in protected areas with high point and carry wear overall. Lyman receiver sight is very good. Hammer and lever show an even plum-brown patina. Stocks are good but slightly under-sized and show an old varnish re-finish. Buttplate has been slightly trimmed to fit stock. A good example of a fairly rare Winchester carbine. 49971-72 TEP C&R (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1123
