*WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE SPORTING RIFLE WITH CRESCENT BUTT.

SN 223183. Cal. 32-40. 26″ oct bbl. Full magazine. Standard sights. Blue finish. Straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt. Included is a Winchester Museum letter confirming all features and showing shipment July 14,1904. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube retain 60-70% of their plum-blue finish with high point wear and some muzzle wear. Magazine hanger pin is missing. Sights are very good. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Receiver retains 40-50% fading blue finish with carry wear on right side. Some slight marring of one screw. Bolt retains 60% blue finish. Hammer and lever show a brown patina with some roughness on side of lever. Tang screw and sight screw are replaced. Stocks are good but slightly undersized and have been sanded and refinished with a coat of varnish. Forend has bruising on left side. Buttplate is silver-gray patina overall. Forend cap has traces of original blue. A good example of a 94 rifle in a desirable caliber. 50078-2 TEP C&R (800-1,200) – Lot 1128
