*L.C. SMITH SKEET SPECIAL GRADE 20 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH OPTIONS.

SN FWE138533. Cal. 20 ga. Unusual factory 27″ bbls, 2-3/4″ chambers, IC & CYL chokes. Automatic ejectors. Twin ivory beads, concave matted rib. Beavertail forend. Featherweight Ejector Skeet Special receiver. Left lockplate engraved with bird and skeet target. Right lockplate engraved with grouse in flight. Hunter One Trigger. Straight grip on a nicely figured piece of walnut. Checkered butt. LOP 14-3/8″, DAC 1-1/2″, DAH 2-1/4″. Non-automatic safety. Accompanied by factory letter that shows it is a Special Skeet grade with 27″ bbls. Finished on June 6, 1934. It was ordered with automatic ejectors, Hunter One Trigger and beavertail forend. Only 3 were made with this exact configuration. PROVENANCE: The L.C. Smith Collection of Gerald Basham. This gun remains in excellent factory condition. Bbls retain most of their orig blue with light handling marks. Minor abrasion on left side of top rib 6″ back from muzzle. Bbls undented, undinged with bright unpitted bores. Receiver has maintained a large degree of orig case color which is faded yet strongly evident. Screws are fine. Long tang trigger bow still retains a majority of faded blue. Walnut buttstock has nice contrasting grain and is tight and uncracked. Both forend and buttstock show very nice sharp checkering and wood retains nearly all finish. Minor handling marks. Checkered butt remains clean.
