*WINCHESTER MODEL 97 TAKEDOWN FIELD GRADE SHOTGUN.

SN E999404. Cal. 12ga. Chamber 2-3/4″, 30″ plain bbl and metal front bead. Factory marked FULL choke. 14 ring flat bottom forend. Takedown pump action. Uncapped, uncheckered pistol grip walnut stock with fluted comb and Winchester marked hard rubber buttplate. 13-1/2″ LOP. Cross-ribbed hammer. SNs are matching on frame and bbl assembly. Correct post-war features. PROVENANCE: The Jon Roark Collection. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains nearly all of its factory applied finish with thinning at the muzzle and slight freckling. Magazine tube is factory finished with blue loss from slight operation. Bore is bright, shiny and unpitted. Standard Winchester Model 97 markings on left side of bbl. Clean and prominent proof marks on both bbl and receiver. Receiver shows very slight carry wear on underside. Very minor marks on front edge of receiver from takedown reassembly. Screws are perfect and un-turned. Blued trigger. Forend retains nearly all factory finish with the most minor handling marks. Buttstock retains nearly all factory finish with numerous handling marks and minor scuffs. Hard rubber Winchester buttplate is undersized. This gun operates smoothly and as it should.
