INSCRIBED CIVIL WAR COLT MODEL 1849 PERCUSSION REVOLVER, GEORGE BUNTING, 102ND OHIO VOLUNTEERS.

SN 96930. Cal. 31. Standard configuration with 4″ bbl inscribed “G.W. Bunting” on buttstrap. George W. Bunting mustered into the 102nd Ohio Infantry in September 1862 & was discharged in June 1865. The 102nd OVI fought in the Western theater during the Civil War. CONDITION: Very good overall. Bbl retains traces of factory blue in protected areas, overall gray/plum. Numerous small dings & dents on right side of bbl housing at wedge slot. All matching except wedge which is numbered 9272. Cyl scene is mostly discernible, trigger guard & backstrap retain about 70% orig silver & well fit stocks retain about 80% of their thinning factory varnish with several dents & small blemishes.
