*EXTREMELY RARE HOLEK AUTOMAT SPORTING RIFLE.

SN 286. Cal, 7 x 57. 20.5″ bbl.Interesting tipping breech block (similar to ZB vz. 26/BREN MG) semi-automatic sporter developed by the Czech arms designer Emmanuel Holek (brother of Vaclan Holek) and manufactured in 1942, utilizing an under-barrel tapped gas recoil system, the weapon cocks by taking the front sling loop and pulling the gas system rearward thus disengaging and retracting the tipping bolt. This rifle was very advanced for its time, it is Czech proofed and is marked with Holek’s logo and “ORIGINAL HOLEK AUTOMAT” on the top receiver rear. Fixed rear sight and ramp front. Multi-point checkered European walnut stock with cheekpiece and sling swivels. Original detachable magazine. CONDITION: Excellent.
