Fairyland Lustre malfrey pot is decorated with pink and red Argus pheasants with gilded detail. The standing male pheasant and resting female pheasant are shown among pink and red flowers with bright green leaves and grass. All set against a mottled blue background with numerous plant, fish scale and butterfly figures hidden in the mottling. The pot is complete with original lid with an Argus pheasant and other birds, a butterfly and green leaves surrounding the outside of the lid, while the inside is decorated with two Argus pheasants, a hummingbird along with pink and red flowers with green leaves. Pot is signed on the underside with gold Portland vase mark, “Wedgwood Made in England” and “Z5486”. SIZE: 7-3/4″ t. PROVENANCE: Betty & Leonard Issod Collection.
