FINE AND RARE COLT SINGLE ACTION CIVILIAN REVOLVER.

SN 31224. Cal. 45 LC. Fine early civilian Colt single action Army with 7-1/2″ bbl, that factory letter states shipped in 1876. Gun retains much of original blue finish, crisp bright markings, 100% original and authentic. Is difficult to find early black powder Colt SAA in such fine untouched condition. CONDITION: Very fine and matching overall, matching SN found on bbl, frame, trigger guard, backstrap and last 4 digits inked on grips in backstrap channel. Cylinder has no. “3231” stamped on outer perimeter. Cylinder finish matches perfectly with rest of gun and was obviously switched when gun was new, possibly at J.P. Moore. Bbl retains about 20% thinning blue finish with bright highlights in protected areas around ejector housing and front sight, balance is mottled gray/plum with light pitting around muzzle, ejector housing matches bbl overall for color with about 40% finish present. Cylinder retains about 40% bright thinning blue finish with balance plum/gray. Frame retains areas of bright case colors but mostly smooth silver/gray. Hammer retains much of its muted case colors with balance matching silver/gray. Backstrap and trigger guard retain about 30% blue with balance mostly plum/gray. Grips retain most of vanished finish with minor scratches and bruising and edge wear. Action is crisp with bright shiny bore. 50056-1 JS (7,000-9,000) – Lot 1298
