*COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH CHECKERED HARD RUBBER GRIPS WITH COLT MEDALLIONS.

SN 351762. Cal. 38 Colt. 5-1/2″ bbl, blue and case colored finish, checkered hard rubber grips with Colt medallions. SNs match on frame, backstrap, trigger guard, with the last two digits stamped on rear face of cylinder. Grips fit well, but bear the number 349686 scratched on inside of both grips. PROVENANCE: The Dr. Robert G. Cox Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 98% of orig Colt blue finish with only slight muzzle wear and wear on top sight. Bbl address and caliber markings are sharp. Bore is excellent with strong rifling. Ejector rod housing retains 99% bright blue finish with slight wear at high point wear at front end. Frame retains 90% slightly muted case coloring with brilliant color in gullet in front of cylinder, and under loading gate. There is a slight scratch on left side of top strap. Screws are excellent and retain almost all orig blue. Hammer shows 90% case color with some slight rub marks on either side and some wear at top. Trigger retains 90% fire blue. Backstrap and trigger guard retain 98% bright blue finish. Grips are excellent and fit well. An excellent example of a pre-war Colt Single Action Army Revolver in a rare caliber.
