WILLIAM SKILLING (American/British, 1940-1964) STANDING LEOPARD.

Oil on canvas Housed in a faux marble painted wood frame Signed lower right “Skilling” Note: Skilling was an English born artist who served in World War I before settling in San Francisco where he died on April 8, 1964. Although a portrait and landscape painter, Skilling is best known for his large canvases of exotic animals. He also created copies of work by artists including Edward Hicks, Parson Fisher and Giuseppe Archimboldo SIZE: 48″ x 60″. Overall: 53-1/2″ x 65″ CONDITION: Overall good condition, canvas is lined, minor craquelure upper left, 2″ area of paint loss under Leopard’s belly, and discolored varnish 50297-2 (2,000-4,000) – Lot 1322
