*COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH CHECKERED HARD RUBBER GRIPS WITH COLT MEDALLIONS.

SN 343421. Cal .45 Colt, 4-3/4″ bbl, blue and case color finish, checkered hard rubber grips with Colt Medallions. Bbl has standard 2-line address with cal mark on left side. Frame has 2-line patent mark on forward left side with rampant Colt logo, without circle to the right. Trigger guard has “VP” proof on forward left side with assembler no. 3. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Last 2 digits of SN is stamped on rear face of cyl. An incorrect SN is scratched over another number, under both grips. Trigger guard and backstrap number are stamped on the inner right side. Accompanied by a letter from the Colt archives stating that they were unable to locate any information on this revolver. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 20-30% blue with most of the wear on the left side and some scratches overall. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is full sized. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Frame retains 10% case color in protected areas with the balance a silver gray patina. Trigger guard retains 20% blue in protected areas, with the balance a pleasing plumb patina. Backstrap retains traces of blue behind hammer, with the balance a pleasing plumb patina. Cyl is a gray brown patina overall with some bright blue in the flutes. Hammer retains generous traces of case color. Trigger retains traces of blue. Screws show a considerable amount of blue finish. Grips are very good with sharp checkering, but are not orig to this revolver. 50062-24 C&R (2,500-4,000) – Lot 1327
