COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH TWO PIECE STAGHORN GRIPS.

SN 85777. Cal .38 SPEC, 5-1/2″ bbl, blue and case colored finish, 2-pc Staghorn grips. Bbl has 1-line address with Colt SAA cal mark on left side and high front sight. Receiver has 3-line patent mark on forward left side. Loading gate has assembly no. 4173 stamped on the rear face. Frame also has assembly no. 4173 under trigger guard. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Bbl, ejector rod, cyl, hammer, trigger, base pin, and screws are modern Colt replacements. Cyl has rampant Colt logo stamped on the rear face. Right front bow of trigger guard has .45 cal stamped. Grips are not numbered. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine as totally refinished. Bbl has 98% blue finish overall with slight muzzle wear and slight roughness on right side of muzzle. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is full sized. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Frame retains 95% re-case color finish, turning slightly brown on left re-coil shield. Patent mark is clear. Hammer also retains almost all the re-case color finish, with some scratches on left side. Screws retain nearly all of their blue, as does the trigger. Trigger guard and backstrap retain about 80% of the blue finish with some scratching behind hammer and some staining on the butt. SN’s are slightly washed out as a result of refinish. Grips are very good with nice figure and no missing pieces.
