TORTOISE SHELL CLOCK AND TOBACCO BOX.

1) Chevron clock has metal frame with beveled glass over a tortoise shell backing with gold circle with black Roman numerals and gold hands. Frame is finished in a bright gold and is marked on back of clock movement “Chevron 8 Jours Swiss”. Clock comes in its original fitted presentation case with silk cover and interior. 2) Round silver tobacco box has openwork tortoise shell medallions on top and bottom. Top medallion shows an ancient hunter attacking a lion with spear and shield. Bottom medallion shows a dog attacking birds. All set within a silver framework. Unmarked. Interior has gold wash. SIZE: 1) Clock is 4-1/2″ sq. Box is 6-1/2″ sq. 2) 3-1/4″ dia. CONDITION: 1) Clock is very good to excellent. Silk on box starting to disintegrate. 2) Tobacco box is very good with a few small dents to silver. 5-68149 (400-700) – Lot 1340
