EXCEPTIONALLY FINE HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION REMINGTON 1889 GRADE 1 HAMMER GUN.

SN 211655. 12 Ga. 28″ Decarbonized steel bbls. 2-3/4″ chambers. Choked: IMP MOD/IMP MOD. Full length matted rib with steel front bead, marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO / ILION NY USA” with dolls head extension. Double triggers, extractors, no safety. Water table marked with SN and grade marking. Full pistol grip stock, checkered in classic 2-point checkering, with 13-3/4″ LOP over Remington Arms Co monogrammed and checkered butt. Splinter forend checkered in classic 2-point pattern with horn teardrop tip. Straight top lever. Sideplates marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO” on both right and left sides. Weight: 7 lb 2 oz. PROVENANCE: The Estate of B.E. “Andy” Anderson. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 90-95% orig bbl blue with minor light handling marks and scratches and one small dent towards muzzle on left side. Receiver retains 90% dark bold orig case color, just starting to tone on bottom of frame. Forearm iron and trigger guard bow retain approx 75-80% bright orig case color. Trigger guard tang starting to tone with light staining. Buttstock and forend retain 90-95% orig varnish. Checkering is sharp throughout with exception of a few diamonds on left grip. Mechanics are excellent. Bores are bright and shiny. Not a rare gun in this configuration but exceedingly rare in this condition. 49531-52 JSL110 C&R (2,500-4,500) – Lot 1360
