RARE REMINGTON 1889 GRADE 4 HAMMER GUN.

SN 37775. 12 Ga. 30″ bbls. 2-1/4″ chambers. Choked: MOD/IMP MOD. Full length matted rib with steel front bead marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO ILION NY USA” with dolls head extension. Double triggers, extractors, no safety. Round knob pistol grip stock with 13-1/4″ LOP over Remington Arms Co monogrammed and checkered buttplate. Stocks checkered in classic 2-point pattern. Splinter forend with teardrop horn tip. Lock plates lightly engraved with border engraving and scroll and marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO”. Screw heads and hinge pin are engraved and border pattern engraved throughout. Trigger guard with burst of scroll on bow. Forearm iron lightly engraved. Weight: 7 lb 7 oz. PROVENANCE: The Estate of B.E. “Andy” Anderson. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain 65-70% orig contrast Damascus pattern starting to lighten and tone with minor staining, particularly in grip area and around forearm but still mostly present. Receiver retains 30% orig case hardening, mostly present on lockplate and top of frame, bold and vivid on top lever and near hammer. Bottom and front of frame,forearm iron, and trigger guard toned to gray. Buttstock and forearm in very good orig condition, retaining 85% of their orig varnish with various light handling marks and scratches. Mechanics are crisp. Bores bright and shiny.
