*2ND GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH CHECKERED HARD RUBBER GRIPS IN COLT STAGECOACH BOX.

SN 42063SA. Cal .357 MAG, 5-1/2″ bbl, blue and case color finish, checkered hard rubber grips. Bbl has 1-line address marked on top and Colt SAA cal mark on left side. Frame has 2-line patent mark on forward left side with rampant Colt logo with no circle to the right. SN matches on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Cyl has last 3 digits of SN stamped on front face with “W” proof and a rampant Colt logo on the rear face. Grips have last 3 digits of SN scratched on the inside. “Alaska 1964 – Jazo, Monika, Paul Anita” is scratched on the inside of each grip. Box is standard stagecoach design from the 1950’s. Partition is for a 7-1/2″ revolver. End label is marked “357 5-1/2”. Bottom of box is not marked. Box contains Colt instruction sheet. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and ejector rod both have 70% faded blue finish with wear at the forward end. Markings are sharp. Sights are full sized. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Frame retains 70% muted case color worn bright on the loading gate with some erosion. There is some vivid color in the gullets in front of the cyl. Trigger guard retains 80% blue that is fading with a couple of rub marks on the fore-strap. Backstrap retains 80% faded blue with some scratching on the back. Hammer retains 90% thinning blue. Trigger also retains 90% thinning blue. Markings are sharp. Cyl retains 80% thinning blue with high point wear, sharp markings and a slight drag mark. Grips are very good with sharp checkering and only one small chip at the heal on right side. Box is very good with slight fraying on the cover and staining on the inside. A very interesting Colt Six-Shooter from the days of the Alaska Pipeline. 50062-45 TEP C&R (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1365
