SN 2910. Cal. 300 WIN. 26″ custom heavy sporter bbl marked “Wyche” with cal. marking. Early Weatherby Southgate marked FN action. Jaeger marked trigger. Military floorplate. Early Weatherby style stock with skip line checkering, diamond ebony inlay and single cross bolt with Monte Carlo cheekpiece and Weatherby marked recoil pad. Readfield 4x scope. Dr Hibben’s aluminum hard case accompanies lot along with a partial list of his firearms, a biography of his accomplishments, and copies of two books “Under the African Sun” and “Kwaheri”, which picture Hibben and this rifle. Of note, this rifle was used to take the “Longonot Leopard”, thought to be the largest ever killed(length 8.5′)at the time. CONDITION: Good. Bbl has numerous rubs, scratches and handling marks as does stock. Finish worn from extensive field use commensurate with storied past. Mechanics crisp, strong rifling, optics clear.
