*SCARCE 28 GAUGE BROWNING PIGEON GRADE SUPERPOSED WITH CASE.

SN 2566F69. Cal. 28 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Bbls marked for modified and full, with matted, ventilated rib have Browning St. Louis and Montreal addresses. Coin finished action is engraved in usual “Pigeon” style, with pairs of pigeons flying through light scroll background on sides, with rose bouquets on bottom. Top of action is relief carved with well cut oak leaves and acorns. Trigger guard is scroll engraved. Spectacular flame figured claro walnut long tang round knob buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over Browning buttplate, and features point pattern checkering with line borders at grip. Forend matches well. Bore diameter: top -.547, bottom -.547. Bore restrictions: top -.018 (full), bottom -.011 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 6 lbs. 11 oz, LOP 14-1/8″. Tan vinyl Browning case is lined in faux fur and contains instruction booklet. PROVENANCE: Rod Fuller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining essentially all of what appears to be factory finishes on wood and metal, with a few handling and assembly marks on bbls, right side of action slightly darkened. There is a repaired crack on left rear of forend. Gold of trigger is excellent. Mechanically excellent except top ejector will not fire. Case is very fine with some stains and rubs.
