SN 6317. Cal. 28 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26″ Dovetailed bbls with slightly raised, matted rib are marked “ABERCROMBIE & FITCH” and “MADE IN ITALY” on top rear of left bbl. Bbl flats are stamped with 1970 Italian nitro proofs, SN, and A&F logo. Case hardened boxlock action with cutout arch to back, features automatic safety and double triggers. Action is decorated with beaded borders, and some rudimentary floral engraving. Water table is marked with maker and address. European walnut stock with some light streaking, measures 14-1/2″ over checkered composition buttplate. Point pattern checkering is on rounded knob grip, and a vacant oval is on toe line. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.568, right -.568. Bore restrictions: left -.040 (full), right -.018 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-5/16″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 5 lbs 1 oz. LOP: 14-1/2″. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal parts retain over 95% orig finishes, action perhaps a bit less, with silvering on fences and thinning on bottom.
