SN 2295. (1997) Cal. 9.3 x 72R and 20 ga. 24″ Dovetailed rifle bbls are mounted with file cut quarter rib holding claw scope bases and single standing leaf rear sight marked for 50 yards. Gold front bead is in matching ramp. 28″ Mono-bloc 20 ga. shotgun bbls are fitted with flat, matted rib. Sides of left bbls are engraved “PERUGINI & VISINI”, right sides with “NUVOLERA BRESCIA”. Bbl flats are stamped with 1997 Italian nitro proofs with calibers, and SNs. Shotgun bbls do not match. Bottom right of both sets of bbls are engraved with importers name and address (Old Friends Rod & Gun Club). Case hardened scallop-backed boxlock action has long top strap, which extends over comb, and features non-automatic safety, classic swept bolsters, and double triggers. Engraving consists of simple line borders, floral screw heads, and some well cut simple scroll on fences. Trigger plate, marked “PERUGINI & VISINI” has exceptionally fine face-on Bulino portrait of a roaring lion, which is signed “C. Tomasoni”. Scroll engraved top lever, single beaded trigger guard, and grip cap are blued. SN is on trigger guard tang which extends to grip cap. Nicely figured and marbled dense European walnut full capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-3/8″ over Silver type pad. Stock features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, and point pattern checkering with line borders at grip. Matching splinter forend has forward pivoting release in classic double rifle fashion. Shot gun bbls: Bore diameter: left -.621, right -.620. Bore restrictions: left -.032 (full), right -.015 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-5/16″. Weight: 7 lbs 1 oz. LOP: 14-3/8″. Rifle Bbls: Drop at heel: approx 2-11/16″, drop at comb: approx 1-5/8″. Weight without scope: 8 lbs 6 oz. LOP: 14-3/8″. Kahles Helia L 1.1-4.5 X 20 rail scope with three post reticle is in claw mounts, rear with windage adjustment. Green canvas case with stitched leather corners has green canvas outer cover with dark brown leather trim. Case is lined in scarlet cloth with space for both sets of bbls, scope, and action. P & V label is in lid. Case contains 3-pc brass cleaning rod with mop and brush, 20 ga snap caps, and rifle snap caps. PROVENANCE: Consignors notes, sales invoice, and orig 100 meter target showing good grouping. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, with only a few light marks and silvering of metal finishes, and a few light scratches and dings in wood. Bores are excellent. Action is tight with both sets of bbls. Scope is excellent with a few small dings, mostly on adjustment covers, optics clear. Case is excellent with a few light scuffs on exterior, as protected by outer cover, which also has some scuffs. Straps and handle are good. Zippers are good. Interior cloth is excellent, as are label and accessories.
