First quarter 19th century New England. The rectangular dovetailed case with hinged, sloping lid resting on lopers. The interior fitted with an arrangement of five document drawers. The case with four graduated long drawers with thumb molded edges and with original stamped brass floral handles raised on simple bracket feet centering a scalloped apron. The desk retains original free form sponge decoration with diagonal squiggle line borders. Tea brown decorations on a bold bittersweet orange ground. SIZE: 48″ h x 36″ w (case) x 20-1/2″ d.
