**EVER POPULAR ALWAYS COLLECTIBLE MATCHING GERMAN WWII MP-40 MACHINE GUN (CURIO & RELIC).

SN 2601J. Cal 9mm. 9.9″ bbl. Very nice curio and relic eligible “ERMA” manufactured receiver with CG Haenel matching rear assembly. Visible numbers appear matching with typical mixture of subcontracted parts which was common practice as the Germans produced these machine guns. Bolt is ERMA as is bbl, front sight by Merzwerk with end cap by Krupp. For those familiar with the MP-40 this is a classic C&R gun which includes one orig magazine and orig leather sling. Shoulder stock employs properly and quite tight when extended. The MP-40 was the successor to the MP-38 model. Both were intended to be compact bust fire power weapons especially suited for dismounted vehicle troops but was issued in ever increasing numbers to troops of all kinds. It is slow firing, comfortable to shoot, durable, with readily available parts. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This weapon is fully transferable on an ATF form 3 or form 4 as Curio & Relic eligible. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish very good to fine with several dings and scars to bare gray patina metal, particularity at the high points, otherwise turning a brown patina. Bakelight of lower assembly fine to very fine. Left grip panel has a slight crack near trigger guard but still completely strong and serviceable. Mechanics are fine. Fine right bore with minor pitting in the grooves. Orig sling soft, strong and serviceable. “fxo 42” marked magazine. The MP-40 has been popularized not only by veterans who brought them back, but also by WWII films over the years. Matching curio and relic specimens are highly sought after collectors items and they also make a great entry level machine gun. 53165-3 JWK (15,000-20,000) C&R – Lot 1021
