**EXTREMELY RARE BEISTUI HERMANOS MM31 BROOMHANDLE SELECT FIRE MACHINE GUN PISTOL (FULLY TRANSFERABLE).

SN 28848. Cal. 7.63 Mauser. 5-1/2″ bbl. Very rare Beistui Hermanos Modelo Militar 1931, competitor to the far more familiar Mauser broomhandle and Astra machine pistols. The MM31 has a screwed in bbl and exhibits model logo on the flat of the left side of receiver. This mimicry was likely meant to deceive the Chinese who were avid customers for the select fire broomhandle pistols, and could not readily differentiate the Mauser logo from others. This model pistols design and mechanism was actually rather more sturdy than the Mausers. Selector on left side marked “N (normal-semi automatic” and “R (for “rapid” full automatic fire)”. Visible numbers appear matching Spanish proof marks on right side of frame with “Made in Spain” on frame behind trigger. Wooden shoulder stock included with stippled initials on both sides no SN on stock. This MM31 is of the fixed 10 shot mag type. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This weapon is fully transferable on an ATF form 3 or form 4. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine as refinished over some very light pitting mostly on right side with some softening to the Spanish proof marks on right side. Hardened bolt stop and safety have turned a plum color upon refinish. Wood grips are very fine. Shoulder stock very good with a small piece of wood missing at top right where it meets the attachment iron and with repaired cracks running horizontally 11″ on the latch side with a repaired crack that runs semi-circular all the way from the thumb latch around to the opening at the latch side of the stock. Mechanics are fine. Bore is shiny and bright. Bolt, internal mechanism and hammer as well as sight ladder are polished in the white. Actually a very fine example of a very scarce machine gun pistol. 53171-23 JWK (10,000-18,000) – Lot 1011
