ALLEN & WHEELOCK 1ST TYPE SIDE HAMMER REVOLVER. Cal 22 short. SN 703. Scarce early revolver with 2-1/2” oct bbl, cone shaped German silver front sight, side hammer that strikes off center, groove top frame for sighting and rear entry cylinder pin with 2-pc walnut grips. CONDITION: All matching including the grips. No original finish remains, being a light gray-brown patina overall with scattered light pitting. Cylinder retains about 95% original scene. Grips retain about 85% original varnish. Strong dark bore. Good mechanics. 4-50633 JR258 (400-700)
