HUBLEY AHRENS FOX FIRE ENGINE. At first glance it is hard to believe that a true fire engine existed that looked like this. The actual engine compartment is located behind the water pumping mechanism which is situated on the front of the vehicle. Hubley as well as other toy manufacturers duplicated vehicles, horse drawn or automotive, or airplanes and copied them into toy form. Elaborate castings including simulated hoses on either side, a elaborate radiator cap (replaced), fire extinguishers on right and left rear corners, a bell, etc. Toy comes complete with nickel plated water pumping mechanism, nickel plated driver, nickel plated hose reel and a pair of short nickel plated extension ladders. All mounted with bulbous rubber tires on wooden hubs. SIZE: 11-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Overall very good. Appears to have the typical repair to the front bumper. 1-11293 (1,200-1,800)
