EXTREMELY PALE BRU FASHION ON WOOD & ARTICULATED BODY. Probably one of the earliest examples of the so-called Bru Smiler fashion. This beautiful doll is incised “E” on the back of the head while “Depose” is across the forehead. Her bisque shoulder plate is attached on the original wooden body with original leather collarette with scalloped edges. Body is articulated at the wrist, shoulders, waist, hips, knees and ankles and has the characteristic large ball joint at the waistline for extreme bending motions. Her curly dark blond mohair wig is probably original and her one piece floor length blue walking suit with white ribbon bows is certainly of the period, if not original. She also has lovely brown leather fashion boots with high heels, although does not have any stockings. SIZE: 16″ (40cm). CONDITION: Excellent. 1-11413 (6,000-7,000)
