AN OUTSTANDING SET OF EIGHT FEDERAL CARVED MAHOGANY SHIELD BACK DINING CHAIRS. Each chair having shield back with carved and pierced splat. Splat has carved Prince of Whales plume, rosettes, and tasseled drapery. Tapering front carved square legs, and dovetailed stretcher. Set consists of two arm and six sidechairs all with new dark brown leather-like upholstery. Armchairs have carved curving arms with carved and curving arm supports. SIZE: 37 1/4″ h, 18″ (seat height). CONDITION: Near excellent with only minor imperfections. Chairs presently are over upholstered, upon examination it appears that they were originally fitted with slip seats. 9-91552 (10,000-20,000)
