RARE SERIES B JULES STEINER BEBE.

Please note: Not a big deal, but an absentee bidder asked us to examine this and we found two pieces of information to share, 1) eyes either reset or replastered in the back at a later time. 2) At the top of the crown on the mold line, for the first ¼” to ½” there is a firing line on surface (does not go through to the interior) It is a surface blemish from the making.

RARE SERIES B JULES STEINER BEBE. Seldom found closed mouth version of this mold incised “Sie B 5” and also in red script “Steiner Bte SGDG Paris Bourgoin Succ.” Her closed mouth has pursed lips with a hint of a smile, the eye cuts are extremely large with blue-gray paperweight eyes. Her face retains even coloring and has nicely and evenly painted brows and lashes. She is on her original fully jointed Steiner body with straight wrists and stubby fingers and has a black stamp on the torso with the so-called “doctor’s mark”. The body finish is original and she has been well re-dressed in a pink silk and lace 1890s style dress with antique pink stockings and white leather shoes with the Keystone logo on the sole. She wears a newer full blond mohair wig over original Steiner cardboard pate. SIZE: 24-1/2″ (62cm). CONDITION: Very good. 1-11350 (7,500-9,500)
