14-1/2″ PORTRAIT JUMEAU 1st SERIES BEBE MARKED “0”. A stunning early portrait Jumeau with pale bisque, mesmerizing blue threaded eyes with a hint of mauve shadowing and black eyeliner. Incised at the base of the neck “0” with an unusual mouth which has slightly parted upper and lower lips and is delicately outlined in red. She is on a marked Jumeau eight ball jointed wood & composition body with separate fingers as opposed to the normally cupped hands found on this French bebe. She is dressed in an antique white cotton dress with period off-white pleated wool cape with fine lace trim and watch fob pinned to lapel of the jacket. Shoes are camel colored antique leather with slight heel. Hat is a wide brimmed straw hat with green velvet ribbon. Hair is soft blond mohair over cork pate. SIZE: 14-1/2″ (37cm). CONDITION: Bisque head appears to be free of any damage. Body overall is very fine plus with one thumb broken and re-glued. 1-11348 (10,000-15,000)
