AMERICAN AESTHETIC MOVEMENT CARVED WALNUT BOOKCASE. Circa 1880. Comprised of three cabinets, each incised and chip-carved with foliate and leaftip designs above three carved doors mounted with arched glass panels, the Gothic molded frames with fan spandrels alternating with Byzantine-inspired, engaged, spool-and-block turned columns with leafy capitals. The conforming plinth fitted with three aligned molded drawers. Accompanied by seven small and three larger shelves. SIZE: 81-1/2″ overall h. x 82″ overall w. x 21″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Retains original surface with very good patina and rich brown color. Original hardware intact. Very good condition overall with no damages or restorations noted. 9-93546 (3,000-5,000)
