MILLS “THE ELK” CAST IRON TRADE STIMULATOR. At the turn of the century Mills manufactured a variety of payout and non-payout gambling machines. Oftentimes these machines have iron cabinets with extremely fancy motifs. The Elk is one of those machines. The right and left sides have a relief of men hunting with a tent, campfire and the day’s trophies hanging from the tree. The fanciful front casting also has a relief of an elk on the lower casting. One to five coins could be played and if all five coins were played, you would be a winner and a corresponding token would be awarded on the right side of the machine. Machine has been restored in polished nickel. Various papers are excellent quality replicas. Iron rear door of newer vintage. Machine is in functional operating condition. SIZE: 13-1/4″ w x 11-1/2″ d x 18-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Upon examination lower front casting has had a hairline that has been repaired internally. Replacement iron marquee. 1-11213 (2,500-3,500)
