LOT OF APPROX. 20 ORIGINAL ARTIST CONCEPTUAL ADVERTISEMENTS. Lot of 20 circa 1919-1920 original gouache watercolors on artist illustration board from the company of Foster & Kleiser, who pioneered outdoor advertising in the U.S. and eventually became Clear Channel. Subjects run the gamut from motor cars by such firms as Sterling, National, Hink & Strugnell, Packard and Oldsmobile, and also include advertisements for California based parks, facilities and rail lines. These originals were likely presentation concepts pitched during meetings with their clients and intended to ultimately wind up as outdoor billboards, trolley cards and other outdoor advertising signage. Backs of all the watercolors are date stamped between 1919 and 1920 with the name Foster & Kleiser. SIZE: Varies from 20-1/2″ x 5-1/2″; 17″ x 7-1/2″; 15″ x 5-1/2″.
