HAMBURG-AMERICAN LINE TIN SIGN FOR THE STEAMSHIP “KAISERIEN AUGUSTE VICTORIA”. Beautiful illustration by noted artist Fred Pansing of the “Kaiserien Auguste Victoria” steamship leaving New York harbor with the Statue of Liberty in the background. Wood frame bears an elaborate brass plate that reads “A Mammoth Hamburg-American Liner” – “Annual Cruises Around the World $650 and Up”. The ship was built in Steffin, Germany and launched in 1905. It was captured and became a U.S. troop carrier during WWI, and later scrapped in 1930 after colliding with the “S.S. Bonus”. SIZE: Overall: 48″ w x 35-1/2″ h.
