CASED SHIP’S BINNACLE FROM THE CLIPPER FLYING CLOUD. Large compass has paper compass points held with light string on central pin encompassed by a heavy metal housing. Mahogany case with glass top for viewing has descriptive brass plate in Spanish indicating that this is the compass from the Flying Cloud. The Flying Cloud was launched n 1851 at the shipyard of Donald McKay E. Boston, Mass. 208 Feet long and held several records including New York to San Francisco in 89 days 8 hours.
