FABULOUS GILT AND PAINTED LYRE SHEET METAL SILHOUETTE. Interesting wall hanging has well fashioned lyre which is gilt and then overpainted in brown in German and dated 1842. Edges are highlighted in brown paint with a wonderful patina. Painted on both sides, could have hung so it could be viewed on both sides. This originated from an old German church in Waldoboro, ME. German translates to “Remember April 1st, 1842”. SIZE: 22″ h x 15″ w CONDITION: Very good with only some minor wear 9-92263 (1,000-2,000)
