RARE AND UNUSUAL COLT MODEL 1860 ARMY PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 44Perc. Nickel finish, 8” bbl with 1-pc walnut grips. This rare revolver is one of the very few authentic factory nickeled Models 1860 extant. It has full coverage nickel plating with blued screws and varnished walnut grips. This revolver has the initials “I.P.” below the serial number on the frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter fully identifying this revolver as having been shipped to Schuyler, Hartely & Graham New York, NY on March 21st 1878 in a shipment of 11 similar revolvers. SN 180544. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching except the wedge which is unnumbered. Possibly unfired. Retains about 96-97% strong bright original nickel with some flaking on the frame and hammer. There are numerous small nicks and scratches to the finish. The screws may have been removed at one time but retain most of their original blue, thin and turning purple. Grips are fine and retain about 95% original varnish with numerous small nicks, scratches and dings. Cylinder has one complete pin with the others mashed.
