EXCEPTIONAL GEORGE III PAINTED WOODEN DOLL. This doll circa 1770 has painted rouged cheeks, and black pupil-less eyes with dotted lashes and brows. Real hair wig. The torso slightly tapering at waist.. Squared hips and legs jointed at knees and hips. Cloth upper arms and wooden forearms with long squared fingers. What appears to be its original mauve silk dress. Fine linen petticoat, and striped 1/2 skirt. Provenance: Ex collection of Mr. Marianne Bodner London-Sotheby’s London sale Nov. 9th, 1989.
