LARGE PAINTED CARVED WOOD CIGAR STORE INDIAN PRINCESS. Life size Indian princess in colorful costume with feathered headdress. Stands with one foot up on block of wood. Right arm is outreaching, probably held long gun or spear. Figure is atop a large wood base with four steel wheels. The base is painted green and has three sides decorated with a metal ax. Figure is possibly by the carver Samuel A. Robb. Nice detail to carving of costume and face. SIZE: total height 82 1/2″. CONDITION: Figure has old splits, some have been filled, some overpaint, some repairs and minor breaks, areas of alligator to finish, but generally in good condition. 9-90482 (20,000-30,000)
