OUTSTANDING AND EXCEEDINGLY RARE STE OF 6 TEN-SPINDLE BOW-BACK WINDSOR SIDE CHAIRS. These unusual ten-spindle chairs came form Limington, Maine. They originally came out of one of the earliest homes in that area and probably originated there. Chair backs have four front-pinned spindles at the top of hoop. Hoop has carved groove edges. Well carved saddle seats, bamboo turned legs and stretchers. Presently no paint but evidence of red paint. SIZE: 36 1/2″h. CONDITION: One 1/2″ lower than the others. One chair has old metal repair to top bow. 9-90438 (8,000-12,000).
